ELM - Elderly Lives Matter
by BourneIdentity ini believe a light has to be shown on the elderly, forget blm.
sure, blacks are being mistreated by law enforcement at times, but there are hundreds of millions of people on a daily basis having no regard for the elderly by not wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic.
they believe the elderly have to be casualties for the economy and getting normalcy back.

Is there anything creepy or wrong about wearing your team's Jersey when watching a game on TV at home? Is there anything creepy wrong with employees wearing uniforms while in a video conference call?
@Jofi_Wofo ...
I agree. It gives people some sense of self, that they are part of the group. It's a great way to get that warm feeling that you are part of a club, company, religion, whatever. Remember, for a lot of people this is their only real contact with others since everyone else is a part of the "world." They need it. They look forward to it and then later can feel a sense of satisfaction.
It is more of a self-help thing than anything else and then they can mentally masturbate on the loving provisions.

JW's and the National Anthem/Flag
by Anony Mous inone thing we were always taught in the past is how we should sit down and pray (kneel) to jehoober whenever we were at an event where they played the national anthem.
we had to actively disrespect the flag and anthem and be no part of the world, because we were our own country with jesus as king.. given kneeling/sitting for the national anthem is now the favorite pastime of the far-left and if you do so, you get associated with democrats, how do jehovah's witnesses now 'become no part of this world' when they have to disrespect the flag?.

I NEVER, NEVER, understood the thing with the national anthem.
You are allowed to stand up in a courtroom to show "respect" for a judge when he/she enters the courtroom as is the custom, but you were not supposed to stand up and show respect for the country when the anthem is played.
I never considered it "worshiping" anyone or anything but just being respectful. But it made it very difficult on occasions in school.

If Michelle or Colin Powell would accept it, then the election is over. Trump can go and play golf.
Otherwise, Tulsi Gabbard, US House Representative from Hawaii.
A no-nonsense Congress person who has done her tours in Afghanistan and sounds at least half-way intelligent. She reminds me of someone with the "balls" of Hillary Clinton but doesn't fly around on a broom. One downside is that she is from Hawaii, a State that the Dems will win in any case, so there is no help with her in battleground States.
When our choices for President are Beevis or Butthead, and our current VP who would better serve as a department store mannequin, we have to have a good VP ready to step in.

Trump suggests postponing the elections ... I'm not making this up
by RubaDub inelections have been held per the us constitution during many difficult times; us civil war, ww i, ww ii, whatever.
i just put on the pro-trump fox news and even they are saying ... oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. this is really scary.
are we headed towards a dictatorship?

but a lot of people are switching to these really long putters, very unattractive... it's weird. You see these great players with these really long putters
Mr Finkelstein ...
I think he was just indirectly referring to the fact that now there are more African-American golfers on the tour with longer and thicker putters. Plus much longer fingers than Trump's.

New Disfellowshipping Procedure
by Anna Marina indisfellowship but never, ever announce it.. this new procedure is to be confirmed - anyone else come across it?.
for this record these are jesus' actual instructions in relation to this matter:-.
(matthew 18:15-17) 15 “moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go lay bare his fault between you and him alone.

This smells like complete nonsense. There is no point in df’ing if nobody knows.
@Justaguy.....
Yea. Sort of like being on double-secret probation and no one knows. You never say hello to anyone at the KH and shun everyone since they may be DF'd. You sit in the back row of the KH and leave immediately after the meeting to avoid any potential bad association.

Perhaps to make the DF process less offensive to people outside of the organization, they can make a loving provision that they will add more Vaseline and remove the sand and gravel when you get screwed.

Jesus on the stake
by dothemath ini sat in recently with some relatives for the sunday meeting.
the talk was given by a bethel speaker, who at one point quoted john 20:25.
“but he said to them: “unless i see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, i will never believe it.”.

Did Jesus die on a cross or a torture stake? Who cares!!
@Davros ......
I could not agree more. I always thought that Jesus sacrifice was his life, not exactly how he died. Would it have made any difference if Pilate had nailed Jesus to his garage instead of a cross or stake? I don't think so. I thought the sacrifice thing was the meaning or purpose of the entire process.
But then religions have to get twisted up in the details.
