  BIG SURPRISE at upcoming International Conventions

  has anyone else been told about this...... word out of hq bethel has it that the upcoming special international conventions will contain some kind of major information or releases.. we know the gb has been rather quiet the last couple years after their 'reorganizing'.

  perhaps because they are facing the sex abuse scandal..... but also likely they have been working on some fancy surprises for the upcoming special international conventions, to excite their masses......... and also try to detract them from the scandals.

  it would be good timing of their part.. this should be interesting......... .

  I definitely feel that the time away from home SHOULD be reduced to allow more time to be with our families. Here would be my approach:

  1. The Watchtower could be studied at the "Book Study" instead of after the Public Talk

  2. After the Public Talk, have a meeting that combines the TMS and SM. We do this type of thing now during the visit of the CO. It works when he is in town. The information in the Isaiah Book or any new publications could very easily be included in this meeting.

  3. To keep the "three times a week format," simply call the "meeting for service" on Saturday or whenever the third congregation "meeting" each week (let's face it, it IS a meeting!)

  This would free up an entire night for family activities or whatever.

  Does this make sense ???

  it seems there's alot of speculation about what may be introduced at the upcoming international conventions.

  given that the wts depends on speculation, i would expect jw's are even more excited than normal...if i can use that word.

  anyway, my thought is...let fly!

  I think that the big announcement has to do with the King of the North and King of the South issue.

  It will be revealed that the King of the North is Ulsyess Grant and the King of the South is Robert E. Lee.

  im not sure if is prudent to post this here.

  i have a contact ( relative ) that is very close to a writing department researcher.. he claims that there was a private extraordinary meeting that was had about 6 months ago.

  9 of the gb members were present and a handfull of elitists that apparently no-one knows or would recognise.

  with the increase in international terrorism, do you think it's likely that bush could be assassinated?

  how would the american people that arent behind bush and the looming war in iraq at the moment react if it did happen?

  do you think it would lead to more bills like 'homeland security' that restrict the american peoples freedom?

  I would really hate to see anything happen to President Bush. That would mean that Dick Chaney would be President. I find it really annoying to watch him talk because he talks out of the side of his mouth just like Prime Minister Chretien of Canada.

  I mean, could you imagine having to watch both Chaney and Chretien at the same time talking to each other. It's sort of like you want to move to the side of the TV to see who they are actually talking to.

  Bush to Divert Funds to Church Groups

  don't care how you are slanted "politically" - this should be of great concern to all americans:bush plans to let religious groups get building aid.

  ashington, jan. 22 the bush administration plans to allow religious groups for the first time to use federal housing money to help build centers where religious worship is held, as long as part of the building is also used for social services.

  I would think that the government's term "social service" implies the public in general. I think it would be tough to limit a social service to only a select, hand-picked group.

  Where I'm going here is, the public obviously includes a large number of DF'd and DA'd persons. It would be interesting to see how these would be handled.

  A lot of the things he says are hilarious. They are called "Bushisms." A friend of mine has a daily calendar with a different quote from him for each day. I want to get one for myself.

  For example, while campaigning for president and asked about trade relations between the USA and other countries, he said "We want to increase our exports, help our businesses and farmers, because a large percentage of imports are coming from other countries."

  Duhhhh .....

  I think there is an entire book of these things.

  From my inside source, these are several of the issues

  1. Based on success of the 15 minute rule, it is being reduced to 10 minutes

  2. A new Rollover Plan will permit unused minutes to be rolled over to subsequent months within same service year for those with one year of service

  3. Due to declining revenues, naming rights will be used at District and Circuit Assemblies. Examples given included "Lovers of God District Assembly by Panasonic ... and ... Millenium of Peace District Assembly by Coca Cola

  4. Sponsorship will also be given to the Announcement portion after the song in the middle of the program (the time when nobody is sure whether so stand or sit). It will be worded such as "After the song, the Ford Motor Company, builders of fine quality cars for over 90 years, invites you to remain standing for Announcements"
