  Generally Speaking Do You Trust Your Government?

  as a us citizen, i am usually a bit skeptical of what comes out of the mouths of government officials.

  often they may speak the truth but i’m not convinced of whatever they are saying as being 100% true.

  do you believe your government implicitly?

  and no, it wasn't muhammad ali.. by most objective measures, the greatest heavyweight champ of all time was a guy called joe louis.. he reigned for nearly twelve consecutive years (june 1937 - march 1949) and made a record 25 successful consecutive title defences.

  since 1949, every heavyweight champ has tried to break or even match this record.

  all have failed.

  Tyson Fury is a current hw champ. He stands at 6 feet 9 inches, has a reach of 85 inches, and weighs 256-272 lbs. Does that make him a great fighter? IMO, I don't think it does.

  That makes my point. Head to head, would a 200 lb. Joe Lewis have a chance against at 6' 9" with a 85" reach Tyson Fury? There is no comparison.

  It would be like comparing any NFL team today to a team when the guys wore leather helmets. It would not be a contest. Imagine today's wide receivers who run 4.5 40's against some chunky cornerback from the past. It would not be a game.

  But that does not take away their greatness at the time they competed.

  My father and grandfather told me that back in the 1930's they used pages of the Sears catalog in lieu of toilet paper. When you were sitting there, you would crunch a few pages in your hands and make them soft.

  As I had mentioned, I have two complete sets of bound volumes from the 1950's onward from deceased family members.

  If push comes to shove, I can just use some of the articles that I don't like and flush them.

  Joe Louis, that's what my father told me. He thought he could beat Ali.

  It's just so hard to compare athletes from different eras. Even in baseball, Babe Ruth would likely not even get a try-out on a team today. Could you imagine him doing a 40 yard dash? Yet he is considered one of the best baseball players ever., at least in his time.

  In NBA basketball, Wilt Chamberlain once scored 100 points in one game (and no 3 point shots like we have today). Yes, he was about 7 feet tall and everyone else was about a foot shorter at that time. Today, there is nothing exceptional about being 7 feet tall.

  It is an interesting debate over a few brews.

  so i just heard from a very reliable source that meetings, at least in some locations are now being video fed to the sheeple.

  and guess what?

  one can even comment and be seen by other members of the conference, for more encouragement.. i did see though that the service providing this video tie-in has as part of their tos this: you will receive a notification (visual or otherwise) when recording is enabled.

  I can’t imagine watching the meetings at home, and being forced to dress up in a dress or suit and tie.

  I was not mentioning about obliterating their economy, if you re-read the thread; Simon made that comment. I was simply opining about how difficult or impossible it would be to do that given the wide reach that China has into the rest of the world.

  As you mention about health care, I was SHOCKED when I saw that 90% of major medicines come from China. That is shocking to me. So China is holding us by the short-hairs when we need medicine? Aren't we paying enough for prescription drugs, often 5 or 10 times or more than other near-by countries?
