@Justaguy ....
Thanks. "Dungjack". Adding that word into my spellchecker.
as time goes on, i keep rethinking this whole thing about states' rights here in the us.
the more i think about it, i think less states' power may be a way to reduce some of the craziness going on.. as mentioned on another thread, you can't even drive now into some states without them checking your license tag where you are from so you have have to be quarantined.
states such as georgia are pretty much wide open.

this is a requirement now in massachusetts.
children must get a flu shot by december 31. some allowances are made for religious reasons and health reasons.. personally, i don’t agree with the government making this mandatory.. what is your opinion?
?.
I don't have any kids in Florida schools but I just looked at the list of shots / vaccines required and was shocked. This is on the Florida schools website:
· - Four or five doses of DTaP
· - Four or five doses of IPV
· - Two doses of MMR
· - Three doses of Hep B
· - One Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap)
· - Two doses of Varicella (kindergarten effective with 2008–2009 school year, then an additional grade is added each year thereafter). Varicella vaccine is not required if there is a history of varicella disease documented by the health care provider.
Wow, maybe the flu shot is not such a big deal then. I have no idea what most of that stuff is. I was shocked that kids have to go through such things just to enter Florida schools.

If I kill your gramma because I prefer not to wear a mask, tough $#!+ for you.
@sir82 ....
If you take that route, just don't leave the carcass on my lawn. It would interfere with my "liberty and pursuit of happiness."

I see... so masks are ‘one way’. Also, second hand smoke.
@Justaguy ...
Even people who smoke don't like second hand smoke. It's already been ingested. It's in someone's body already. Then they get rid of it.
It's like a ham sandwich. If you eat it, you want the initial ham sandwich. You don't want a second-hand ham sandwich that has been digested by someone. Come on man, a digested ham sandwich is well, call it what you want, but it is shit. Do you want a second hand sandwich? Do you say, that doesn't bother me? I certainly don't want second hand smoke, nor a second hand sandwich.

I'm on the fence on this one. Generally, if you get the vaccine you "should" not get the flu. No guarantee, but a reasonably high percentage. If parents don't want their kids to get it (as is true of some religions, such as the Hasidic Jews) then it's their kids who may suffer.
I don't know, if you get it at least, hopefully, no one else suffers.

There is no difference with covid. again
@Justaguy .....
As Jefft eluded to, if you think doing something to hurt your own body (smoking, heavy drinking, drugs) is the same as potentially giving someone a life-threatening disease (COVID-19) , then, as JeffT says, and I quote, "you need to get a life."

I would rather have freedom, along with its dangers, than security that comes with tyranny.
@WTWizard ....
There is a big difference with the COVID-19 thing. It is not like a person who drinks a bottle of vodka every day, smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day, whatever. You get sick, you go to the hospital, and they do their best to treat you.
With COVID-19, you are putting other people at risk, not just yourself. Too many doctors, nurses, hospital workers, first responders, etc. have died because of others' stupidity.
I just say if people want to act stupid and attend events where people are acting irresponsibly, go for it. Just sign a legal document, like the JW Blood thing, that if you get the virus, you will not go to the hospital and possibly infect others. Just lay in your own bed, let your lungs deteriorate, gasp for air until you die. Just have a bucket next to your bed so you can try to spit the phlegm out. Enjoy the hours you have in that condition.
Freedom is not a license to put others at risk of their lives.
in wt world, a marriage is only seen (considered) as legal if it is registered in the municipality (or similar governmental organisation).
now, if you look at the scriptures, there was no requirement to have a marriage legally registered in order to be considered married.
is it not strange that the wt subjects themselves to and adopts an worldly arrangement setup but governments rules by satan when it comes to a marital status?.
menrov ...
It's simply the obey Caesar thing, that's all. What you have to do to get married can vary by country, State, even municipality. But generally there is no conflict with the Bible so you have to follow the rules of your local government.
i miss listening and dancing to live music on a weekend night.. i miss going into a crowded mall store to window shop.. i miss going out into public and not having to wear a mask.. i miss seeing people freely mingle on a busy street or sidewalk.. what a difference a year makes!.
Like I said, and you know, we have 50 fiefdoms in this country. I don't like it either. But it's the way the system is rigged. The States have a lot of power under the system we live in.

Your attempts at humor fail... over and over. At least people continue to humor you
@silentbuddha ...
I guess I keep getting flashbacks from watching the movie Deliverance too many times. Those guys sitting on the porch playing the dueling banjos still gives me the creeps when they smile.
