This has been a thing for me for quite some time.
If a person does not have a soul or spirit that lives on after death, that links the two bodies together (the one that has died and the newly built one); then clearly the resurrected person is just a clone ... with the real person dead and gone. With this simple logic beyond most Witnesses, of course.
Of course back in the 1800s, CT Russel had no concept of cloning either, but some other theologians might have when they considered the idea of soul sleep as a way of understanding Ecclesiastes 9:5. And it sort of harmonized the words of Jesus, when he said he was going to wake Lazarus from death.
Not that I'm sure of one idea or another anymore these days.
