Well, I'm unofficially shunned
by reubenfine ini sat on my hands for months, wrote emails that i never sent, and finally i told my family about the un scandal.
my mom still loves me although she disagrees, but my sisters told her that they are having a family get together and i'm not invited because i'm an apostate.
my mom says if they are going to talk about me then she isn't going.

Thanks again, everybody. I really appreciate it. You all make good points. Gotta be true to yourself! The funny thing is that all I speak is the truth and they can't refute it. My sisters were already avoiding me so nothing much will change. I felt like I had an obligation to tell them so they can do whatever they want now. I'm so glad Simon maintains a board like this so we can spread the word and be there for each other. Hey, maybe this is fulfillment of Bible prophecy because my family is persecuting me!

Thanks for the support. Somehow in my naive mind I thought there was a slight hope that facts and the truth meant something. Oh well, maybe a seed was planted. Who knows!

They can do what they want, but I feel better doing what I thought was right. It's pitiful how they are so brainwashed. Grown people that can't handle the truth. I told my mom that I'm disappointed they would act in such a way without showing me where I am wrong. Where's the love?? Well, I just had to share it. I don't always agree with everyone here, but I accept you all for who you are. Thanks to all here for being my new family! You're stuck with me.

I'm astounded by the UNDER-PATRIOTISM Displayed
by Yerusalyim inyep,.
it boggles my mind, so many here would rather believe saddam hussein than their own government.
so many here seem certain the bush administration is lying, but trust hussein to tell the truth.

However, I am still haunted by the collapse of the two trade tower buildings. I am even more haunted by the photographs of the dead Kurd mother holding her dead daughter. This was a result of the gas attack by the Iraqi army. Saddam, who hates the US and the UK will, I am convinced, launch a similar attack on the US if given a chance. If anyone thinks this despot will not attack the US in a similar fashion, please give my your reasons for thinking in that manner. This is a madman and he is more dangerous left alone than if someone takes him out.
I'm haunted by horrible injustices, too. I just never believe the government does ANYTHING because it's right or just. Here is my theory........are you on the city council? Who is? Patriotic, fair Americans? No, they are business people or their agents who get laws passed to benefit their own businesses. I believe it is the same on the state and federal level. Virtually all laws passed make my life harder and more restricted. Who got Congresspeople elected? Big business's money because it takes money, lots of it, to get elected. So they owe a debt to the people who got them elected. The military is nothing more than the strong arm to accomplish the will of big business, and the deal will be sold as the "moral and just" thing to do but has nothing to do with moral and just. Idi Amin and Pol Pot were at least as bad if not worse that Hussein and we didn't lift a finger. Stalin killed millions upon millions of his own people, maybe 50 million, and we sat on our hands. Why? Well, it didn't benefit big business to do so, period. Patriotism is just a scam by the government so you will let them get away with anything, EXACTLY like the loyalty the GB demands. I used to think they operated with good intent, too.
I don't think Hussein would attack the US because he can't get over here, plus he would be signing his immediate death warrant. The more important question to me is...........why would someone give their life to destroy the World Trade Center? Why are Muslims so pissed off? I have an opinion on that, of couse, but if you don't go around pissing everyone off then maybe they won't see a need to retaliate. I'm not in any way justifying the horrible event, but it is a question that needs to be asked that has been mostly ignored. They are not all crazy savages.
P.S. I though I was the most balanced poster!

I would like to say that I appreciate reading all your comments, Yerusalyim. However, my take on it is I am not under-patriotic, but I have absolutely zero patriotism in my blood. After 47 years of observation, I believe that every word coming out of a politician's mouth is a lie for their own profit. I'm not a cynical person, but when it comes to government I'm 100% cynical.
My point is.............our rights are from God, and the government's job is to preserve those rights. That is the purpose of government, as Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independance, which is why elected officials have to swear to uphold the Constitution and laws. So really, the GOVERNMENT is obligated to be loyal to me. I owe no loyalty to the government. They are my servants. (Yeah, right). Patriotism is a snow job by the government, twisting the masses to be loyal to them so they can get away with shearing us like sheep, (to the tune of a proposed 2.2 trillion dollar budget proposal, etc.). I think if you read Jefferson, Madison, and others from that time, you will find that they feared government and never preached patriotism. In fact, Jefferson said, "The tree of liberty needs to be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure." He also said a little revolution here and there would keep the government in line. "God forbid we go 20 years without a revolt," was what he wrote. So he advocated resistance, not loyalty, because the nature of government is to take and take and always will until they are stopped. If the founding fathers were patriotic we would never had a revolution. In fact, many were loyal to the King and that was a problem at the time.
I don't support Hussein nor do I support Bush. I support truth over the lie. Of course, the first casualty of war is truth, so in war time I'm particulary suspicious.
Even though I disagree with you on this one, keep up the fine posts. I hope I wasn't disagreeable, just my humble opinion.

Oh yeah, thanks. I remember something about that in a far off universe. One time I had a cat rub up against my leg. Does that count?
Sorry about abusing this thread. I just woke up and will probably regret it later.
