  hey hows everyone doing... i am a resident of edmonton in canada, and i am only 16 years old, i just left the jw religion.

  i just knew it wasnt in my heart, my parents dont care but i told them that i dont want to go to any meeting or talk to any of our old friends.. they still dont know why..but i fell like it was to much of a currupted situation..i felt like i was taking orders from man, not from god.

  i was not baptized yet, but i was going strong in the ministry as a unbaptized publisher.

  JWs blame everything on demons...

  i cannot believe how credulous many jws are regarding the religions near obsession with supernatural beings.

  apparently young kids misbehaving is a result of demons.

  what irritates me the most is that this woman was more concerned with an alleged person with a "dangerous mind" placing the tract she left back on the car, than the fact that she left two children alone in a parked car.

  Who here is shunned by family?

  remember the watchtower that asked "are jws a cult?

  " and then listed things that cleared it of the accusations of being such?

  cant remember the date.. anyway one of the things it said was that "cults" usually have a lot of ex members testifying against it and the damage it has caused to their family lives.

  So sorry to hear about so many tales of shunning. . .

  Regretably, I have another one. . . my own. . .

  My two kids Shawn (28) and Heather (27) shun me. I haven't been able to talk with them since 1999, before I was disfellowshipped. I sent them cards in the mail. The cards were returned to me, unopened.

  Since that time, they have both moved . . .and now I follow them on the internet.

  I have six brothers, two of which are jw. The two jw brothers shun me. . .Interestingly, jw brother (number six) asked my non-jw brother (number five) at Christmastime, "Ask Esther if I can have her kids' addresses." My answer to brother number five? "Tell Steve to find the addresses the same way that I do. . .search the internet!"
