  i happened to stumble across an unsavory political article on a reuters blog at http://blogs.reuters.com/james-pethokoukis/2010/10/31/20-reasons-democrats-are-the-walking-dead/.

  from my birds eye view of your fine country next door (in canada), i see that what is happening --- has been happening to your us of a for many eras of government and cannot be blamed on the now president barack obama.

  JWs as Foster Parents? Sheesh

  while scouring the new york times for a feature about jws latest conquest (watchtower=most-widely-read-magazine-in-the-world-prank) (which i didn't find, btw) i stumbled onto an article about a jw family who have adopted some teenager relatives recently.

  it would be interesting to follow up on how they "adjust" to their new strange surroundings and imposed beliefs.

  as i understand, in the the adoptive family, the woman is a cousin to the drug-addicted mother of the girls.

  i have a dance friend that invited me to their event at their church.

  it is a half hour dance show, then a half hour dance lesson, then general dancing till midnight.. this sounded okay.

  A new twist

  i've been disfellowshipped for about ten years yet i rack my brain trying to turn that "shunning" stuff around into something more positive and uplifting.

  shunning sounds like --- like --- so final.

  it's what we were taught to dread our whole lives.. well, for someone who was raised to be co-dependent with the borg, for me to allow myself to get disfellowshipped and leave because i had some independent thinking going on --- maybe --- just maybe my kids don't talk to me any more because my leaving the jws has left them speechless!.
