I have a book that claims the apostles themselves went throughout the world of that time and got the gospel preached everywhere. The thought is that they accomplished this by the power of the Holy Spirit just as they were empowered by Jesus' authority to perform miracles such as speaking in tongues, healing and raising the dead.

by scout575 incolossians 1:23b claims that by the time of writing, the good news had been preached, "to every creature ( "all creation" - nwt ) which is under heaven.
" had the good news really been preached in 'all creation under heaven' when colossians was written?
was this statement inspired by an all-knowing god or does it just reflect reflect the ignorance of the time, as to the size of the world?

Gangas & NWT
by voltaire ini heard an interesting program the other night that reminded me of the debates/questions that arise about the tanslation of the nwt.
it has been asserted that since george gangas was a speaker of modern greek he was not qualified to translate biblical greek.
the progam i heard is hosted by milt rosenberg on wgn 720 and the guests were two linguists from illinois universities ( i can't recall their names).

When I was at Brooklyn, the thing that awed most visitors as well as Bethelites about the building signs was the name "Watchtower." I doubt much focus was given to "Read God's Word the Holy Bible Daily." Both signs face the ramp leading to the Brooklyn Bridge. It wasn't easy to read either sign as you drove up the ramp toward Manhattan, but the top sign was plain to see on the left as you descended from the bridge, either in a car or on the walkway. Even more conspicuous was the "Watchtower" sign atop the 77 Sands St. building. The buildings are known as the "Watchtower Complex," with hardly a hint about the Bible. I don't think it's still there, but a large neon sign atop the 25 Columbia Heights building simply said "Watchtower," and it could be seen as far away as Staten Island and New Jersey, as well as in Manhattan.
