God is an Athiest
by Tashawaa inbefore the christian dismisses atheism as irrational or condemns the atheist as immoral, he should consider the disturbing possibility that the god of christianity is himself an atheist.
and if this is true, it means that the christian worships, obeys, and has devoted his life to an atheistic being who does not believe in any power superior to himself, never prays, is utterly without faith, and who does not acknowledge any authority, either cognitive or moral, external to himself.. .
if theism is defined as the belief in a supernatural being, then god is an atheist.

An atheist is a person who does not believe in and who denies the existence of God. True, he or she does not worship or obey God, but that has nothing to do with the simple definition of the term atheist.
It is questionable whether atheism exists at all. We all worship something, even if it is only our own egos.

Buster,
You've reminded me that Bert and Freddie Franz believed they were already ruling with Christ. The Society's official view is that "all the Kingdom's interests upon earth have been placed in the care of the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class." Rutherford even believed--or at least taught--that political rulers would eventually turn to him and the Society for counsel and direction. He felt they were disapproved by God and Christ until they in that way 'kissed the Son' before he expressed his anger at Armageddon.
As for the majority of JWs--the "other" sheep--Bert viewed them as slaves of the governing body, hewers of wood and drawers of water to assist the "anointed" class in their present rulership on earth.

Neo,
"Bert" was one of my "overseers" at Brooklyn Bethel when I worked in the Gilead Office. Your comments are right on. He pretended to be a man of compassion and understanding, but was treacherously far from it. My basic memory of him is that he was puffed up with his own self-importance. He walked around the place as if he were some sort of army commander or prince among men. Not a very humble posture or bearing. He had a somewhat superstitious view of persons who professed to be of "the anointed." One time we were walking behind such a person, and Bert said to us in a voice a bit louder than a whisper, as if awestruck, "He's one of the anointed!" I was his chauffer at times, and it was obvious that he had something that seemed like a disdain for those of the "other sheep" who had good suggestions to offer. He'd actually pretend to fall asleep while they were talking.
I feel he was a better speaker than some others on the governing body, but I attribute that to his university education--an education that was hypocritically denied to millions of the rest of us by men such as him in leadership positions within the organization. He told me that he was invited to Bethel while he was attending university, and Rutherford told him to come immediately or forget about the invitation. Bert chose to finish his university course, and the Judge later invited him to Bethel anyway.

The first bloodless surgery was performed this week in which a kid who is a Jehovah's Witness got a new liver without a blood transfusion. The parents were so happy, they almost celebrated!
While traveling near Tampa, Florida I passed the "Jehovah's Witness Assembly Hall" and was struck by the fact that that must be where they make them.
What do you get when you cross Jehovah's Witness with a Mafia hitman ? Lots of converts.
Why do mobsters hate Jehovah's Witnesses? They hate all witnesses!
I learned something the other day. I learned the Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Halloween. I guess they don't like strangers going up to their door and annoying them.
A man went to a pet shop and purchased a parrot. Apparently, the parrot had belonged to a Jehovah's Witness because it kept repeating, "Read the Watchtower and Awake. Avoid wordly associations. The end of this system of things is near." Squawk. Well, the new owner of the bird attempted to add new vocabulary to the parrot's repertoire with books on tape and contemporary music, but as the months went by it became obvious that nothing could break through. The parrot continued to repeat the standard catchphrases of the Watchtower Society and nothing else. The owner finally became frustrated and infuriated and, in a fit of violent anger, threw the parrot across the room. The parrot smashed against the wall, and slid down to the floor, at which point the parrot immediately started squawking: "No Blood! No Blood! No Blood!"
A young boy was walking along the road pulling puppies in a wagon. He was walking by a kingdom hall, where a district overseer stood outside on the grass. Curious, the district overseer asks "What kind of puppies are those?" In reply the boy said: " They're Jehovah's Witness puppies." The district overseer chuckled and the boy was on his way. The same boy walked by the kingdom hall once more and the district overseer this time was standing with some elders. The district overseer said "Watch this" and asked again "What kind of puppies are those?" This time the boy said "Love Puppies." The district overseer, shocked, said, "I thought you said they were Jehovah's Witness puppies." The boy said "Yeah, but today their eyes opened!"

Having had a truly good wife before she died, these are some of my favorite quotes about women:
- “God made woman beautiful and foolish; beautiful, that man might love her; and foolish, that she might love him”
- “Sure God created man before woman, but then again you always make a rough draft before creating the final masterpiece.”
- “A woman helped us to lose paradise, but how frequently we find it again in her arms.”
- “Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.”
- “I asked a Burmese why women, after centuries of following their men, now walk ahead. He said there were many unexploded land mines since the war.”
- "God made man, and then he said 'I can do better than that' and made a woman."
