  there's that wonderful quote by a guy called pastor niemoller, who was arrested in germany by the nazis and thrown in jail, where he said: .

  "first they came for the communists, but i was not a communist, so i said nothing.

  is there not a common goal in all of us for the WTS to change? part of my "widening out" was to come to a site like this to learn and perhaps help others to learn. i dont see this db as a society or a fellowship, just an area where people who have an interest in the whole JW thing can come and communicate. i see there being a specific intent for doing that, and that is change for the WTS, perhaps not for 100% of people here, but for the vast majority i think.

  perhaps you like to share your thoughts with me on what the "real life" is?

  i suppose this can be related to a certain argument that taken place recently. the real power lies with the collective rather than individuals. this is why we should stick together.

  i was raised and am currently a jw (detailed within my personal profile).

  however, yesterday i turned in my letter of stepping down as ministerial servant.

  yesterday i just joined the board and i'm glad to be here.

  hi alli and welcome

  take things one step at a time mate. there's a lot to learn. i've just recently stopped going to meetings after spending about a year investigating certain issues. in the end the meetings became hell to go to because of knowing the hypocrisy that was taught, so that was the right time for me to leave.

  one thing you have to learn is not to fear. if you fear them then they will win.

  WTS Secret Police

  heres a story of what happened to me at a district convention this year.. an unbaptised publisher and i travelled to wolverhampton district convention in england.

  this wasnt our district but id been on holiday and had missed my own district convention (how unspiritual of me).

  so me and this friend decided to go to this convention and was also hoping to meet a friend there.. on the saturday morning we were delayed in traffic and we eventually arrived at 11.30am, paid our 3 for parking (i wonder if they had the use of car parks for free?

  hmm,i dont how too start off,but ill try,so im 16 yrs old,im being raised as a jw,and it is hard as hell,sometimes i think,if this is the right religion arent you suppose to be happy??

  ?well i really cant do anything about that because my parents say no way they will let me go in "the world" nonsense!so im stuck here ,lonely,depressed,and confused,sometimes i wish id die,but i know that wont help nothing.i want out of this org so bad,but i cant do nothing about it.there always telling me dont let satan and the bad asscioates influence you!im sick of that.all my friends well i shold say my ex friends they never helped me,my as they say:worldy friends did.. also i really really like this guy,i know he like me but he is worldy and i wish so badly i could date him,(i hate the term worldy,so stupid)my parents seriously will not give me space and they are stuck up my @ss.please if u have any commets i would sincerly appriciate it:) laura

  although you dont know it you can just quit, rather than be disfellowshiped or DA yourself. you may not realise it, but at baptism you entered into a legaly binding contract, which it ilegal for an under 18 to do. so you have a right to quit and the elders can do nothing about it.

  Elders admit huge numbers leaving

  my daughters boyfriend was at his moms the other night and the elders just happened to stop by and talk with him.. anyhow, after their discussion about him and my daughter and the baby and what they are going to do, (havent been to meetings in 7 months mind you), her boyfriend told the elders that he no longer wanted to attend meetings and my daughter told them the same.. the elders admitted to them that there is a huge number of people that felt the same way, and the halls are much emptier than they ever were.. hmmm, i wonder why?.

  What did you do to piss the brothers off?

  when you were getting fed up with meetings before you gave up, was there anything you did to deliberately get on the brothers nerves?.

  i turned up to a meeting once with jeans on, and a red top with cccp on it with the 'hammer and sickle'.

  i also went to another bs group a few times so that if i wasnt at one group they'd think i was at the other and vice versa.

  Baptised Twice!

  my friends mother has been a jw for ages, and i was amazed when i heard she was baptized twice as a jw, once in the 1940's and again in about 1961. .

  whats the deal with that??

  she mumbles something about things changed in those years and the earlier baptism was invalid or needed re-doing.... .

  i would have thought by now they'd have everyone who was baptised pre 1985 rebaptised under the new questions for total control.

  whether or not you were aware of the term watchmen, it is being used and an official WTS title. it was even on the door of the assembly overseer's room. if there were no problems with any of this stuff then why dont the WTS disclose what exactly is going on? because people wouldn't be happy that they are being spied upon.
