by Farkel in"i'm perfect, you're doomed" by kyria abrahams, 2009, touchstone.. if you want a way to get people out of that horrible cult, easily, quickly and expeditiously, then here is how to do that.. i can say with a vote of confidence that anyone who reads this book will never and i mean never become a dub.
dubs who read it (assuming they have at least one or two brain cells left) will run from their religion like flies on shit when you pour bleach on it and blow it up with dynamite.. toss away crisis of conscience, apocalypse delayed, 30 years a watchtower slave and all those other very nice books and read this one.
i read those and all the other ones.

by Laika inin the movie annie hall, written by woody allen, as a young boy, alvy's mother, takes him to see a doctor as he appears to be dealing with some kind of depression.
when the doctor asks alvy what's up, alvy explains that he just found out the universe is expanding, everything will spread out and go cold and die, therefore nothing he does matters, so he is not going to do anything anymore.
most people might see this as a joke, but i think woody is trying to make a serious point.. the point here is about meaning.

Wow, some great rebuttals to the OP!
Perhaps we are missing an obvious point. What if the OP has no feelings to direct his actions, no natural values, no innate self worth that creates the meaning most of us take for granted? If a person cannot comprehend personal values naturally, without the coercion of religion, then maybe something is missing. He denies meaning in everything because he doesnt feel it himself.
Maybe he needs others to tell him what to do, what to think, what to feel, what to care about, and what is meaningful because he does not understand them naturally. It sounds like the thought process of a sociopath. He says, I feel nothing & anyone who claims they do is delusional.
Anyone who says "You are just a series of random events, you are no more valuable than a dog turd" may be a sociopath. Whatever causes this thought process, it is not mental & emotional health. His thinking & beliefs have nothing to do with religion & everything to do with a lack of natural feeling, empathy, and meaning in his life.
Seriously, "you are no more valuable than a dog turd"= no empathy or natural feelings for others.

No one is calling you out, I was legitimately asking your thoughts on what reality means to you.
Everyone says they know reality & it's always "other guy" who has it wrong. You implied you knew reality & the other guy had it wrong. Just wondering how you separated your accurate reality from their false reality.
Our beliefs & feelings are obviously not an accurate judge of whats real. How can anyone have a serious conversation about science or evolution with only feelings, wishes, beliefs, and vague claims of knowledge? Without objective definitions, everything that is said about "reality" is pointless.
I agree with what you said, I was just wondering on what basis you said it.
