Scare the bejesus out me why don't you scotsman.
which bit was scary? Invoking the Shanks?
okay i was talking to an elder and he said me going to university was a bad idea and i should have listened to the society and not gone.
but i said that when i went to university the watchtower was saying it might not be a bad idea to go to, as long as you do it for the "right reasons", don't associate with worldly people, and keep clear of "damaging ideas".
but basically they said it was okay, in this "changing world" and job market to go to university.

I became an elder the same month I started a 4 year liberal arts degree in 1999 and I learned that the CO, Ian Shanks, told the elders that they could not use my choice to go to university as a reason not to appoint me.
have you heard of ryan cragun's book how to defeat religion in 10 easy steps?
http://www.amazon.com/how-defeat-religion-easy-steps/dp/1634310128/ref=cm_cr_pr_bdcrb_top?ie=utf8.
cragun is a sociologist and an ex-mormon who thought it would be fun to take what he'd learnt about religious decline from sociology and see if he could apply it as a number of proactive steps to undermine religion.
scotsman I would consider reducing the spread and influence of JWs a worthy goal. I haven't always been of that opinion, but I'm coming to that view.
if it was extensive and increasing I might agree. Attempting to assist close family to make an exit is one thing but attempting to defeat JWs is a waste of time imo.
But I also recognise that it can be stage that many of us have experienced and its part of the process of disengagement (honestly not meant to sound patronising!).

it is scheduled on our service meeting next week to have 3 local needs parts.
local needs 1 , local needs 2 and local needs 3.
The last ever meeting I went to had a heavily trailed local needs talk that everyone was repeatedly told they shouldn't miss. The talk turned out to be all about me, a warning that I was a dangerous associate because I was questioning things. Of course, I wasn't named, nor had I been forewarned. Everyone blanked me after the closing prayer, many having known me since birth.
It was a surreal experience.
Maybe you're extra special Hoser and merit 3 talks...

why do the republicans seem to have a monopoly on this behaviour?.
These examples are only in response to the predictable usage about gay lifestyles.
anyway, I'm off to grind my screamingly gay axe.

in short:- tight pants is no longer just a am3 hang up (or is that a hang up on the well hung?
)- brothers who have effeminate body language are flagged up- as are sisters with 'masculine' hair styles or dress- such dress is 'disturbing to the congregation'- the above must heed the (repeated) counsel from the elders...or they get stripped of the right to share on the ministry- however...this will not be revealed (announced) to the congregation.
wow.
You really think 'manifest effeminate traits' is referring to fashion?
And not being heteronormative does not equal being gay.
