Well, the annual European war is over for another year
by Simon inyes, every year we do battle ... with song !
while it's supposed to be 'the best song' that wins it has degenerated into farce a bit - for as long as anyone can rememeber: .
greece and cyprus give each other top marks.

While being thrilled at the leather, fur and whips from Ukraine I was most disappointed with Albania's entry. The preview video
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/eurovision/2004/contestants/index.shtml
shows the most hilarious dancing I've seen at eurovison, involving what I can only describe as a pony trot across the stage. It was sadly changed for the final.
The French stilt dancer was erm... a curiousity.

So is anyone else going to watch the eurovision song contest?
by BLISSISIGNORANCE insunday night..................it's on again!.
every year my family keeps tradition and we watch hours of hilariously bad/not so bad european pop music.
from remote places like estonia to malta and germany, it's on for young and old.. we usually invite fellow esc fans/friends and we consume good wine, watch the show and have a fun night.. abba launched into their career by winning eurovision in 1974 with 'waterloo'.. here is the web site.......................enjoy.

Do you fear the big A and does the conflict impact your actions?
by Maverick inon another tread this point came up.
scotsman posted a comment about a certain poster being gay, and i do not know or care if this is true or not, and in conflict over the fear of dying at armageddon for this "sin".
do any of you fear the big a because of your lifestyle?
-

From time to time my mum asks how I will feel when Armageddon occurs. After telling her that it wont, I add that if the Witnesses are right about that then they're right about death and so I'd have nothing to fear. She doesn't like that sort of reasoning for some reason.

Ridicule or Reason on JWD? What do you do?....
by ScoobySnax indo you think its right to ridicule jws on this forum or reason with them?
so many threads.
so many strong personalities.

Scooby is just utterly conflicted by the gay versus jw issue. This isn't so unusual, I have gay friends that still think they'll be destroyed at the big A, and there are plenty other non exJW gay people who think they'll pay for their sin. What is unusual is that he visits and posts here. Although he posts proJW threads, the fact that he lies to the Witnesses (in the sense that he witholds the truth about his sexuality) shows he doesn't respect them as an organisation.
And often his threads are posted late at night (post work?) probably when he's bored or frustrated by his conflict.
edited to add: the board copes with xenophobes and Messiahs, it can cope with a gay JW apologist.

The Italians don't enter because they think it's too trashy. Have you heard their pop music - it's perfect for eurovision! I've tried to explain the concept to some Italian friends but they just don't get it.
Last years UK entry was abysmal, but I loved the fact that some thought it was as a result of the war that there were nil points. This years entry is the dull guy from the BBC reality programme. Shame, he lacks euro pizzazz.

Am I a gay man? About 6 years ago there was this Belgian guitarist that had the most ridiculous little dance moves. We'd taped it, so watched him on a loop for another hilarious hour afterwards.
Do you get the Terry Wogan commentary in Oz? He's pleasingly snide.
