any cheese lovers out there?
i just love virtually any kind, from creamy and soft to brittle and sharp, from cottage cheese to the 'moldy' cheeses like gorgonzola.
i like to try new things, so any suggestions for cheese varieties you have tried?

when i was an elder back in the 1970's i loved to debate and challenge ministers, preachers, and holy rollers.
now you can be a loyal jdub fully indoctrinated for 30 years but just take a peek at an apostate website and you are doomed.
yes, satan now has you by the gonads and all of the years of being at the meetings, all of the family worship nights, all of the conventions, and all of the personal study just go up in a cloud of smoke.
Apostate websites are dangerous because you can read them in private with no audience to play to. They are scared of apostate websites like they were scared of Crisis of Conscience when it was published.
They are right to be scared as it might bring their world crashing down around them.
my sister texted me last night with an invitation to watch our dad give his first ever public talk.
i don't live particularly near to my family, but i'm not too far from them to make the journey, and i am on good terms with them, having never been baptised and so not disfellowshipped; they don't shun me and likely wouldn't even if i were disfellowshipped, it's not in their character.. i haven't been inside a kingdom hall since 2006, and i would like to keep it that way; i only intend to step inside one again in the event of a family wedding or funeral service.
i don't want to be rude to my sister, ignoring the text isn't an option, so i need a diplomatic way of declining her invitation.. i've considered saying that i'm busy, but this leaves things open for her to ask again in the future, and i'd rather she got the message that i'm not interested, without me having to say so in an explicit way.. any suggestions from those who have been in a similar situation?.
I agree with Wild Thing’s suggestion. It’s spot on.
elon musk has called one of the thai cave rescue divers a 'paedo' on twitter.. this could prove to be a very costly post should the diver sue him for defamation.. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/jul/15/elon-musk-british-diver-thai-cave-rescue-pedo-twitter.
Steve2 is getting confused with Peter Thiel, who bought NZ citizenship. Another charming billionaire.
this is a really long article about the film apostasy and interview with the director about his story and how he came to make the film.
apostasy director: ‘it was liberating to leave the jehovah’s witnesses’.

Anyway...back to the interview and movie. It is good interview and I am not sure that I want to see the movie. I have seen the trailer and it is just too real for me. It made my stomach lurch when I watched it. I left so long ago and watching this movie would put me right back into the environment that I rejected. I don't want to go there.
I’m seeing it next weekend, taking some friends to give them a taste of what the JW world is like but confess I’m feeling apprehensive about how it will leave me feeling.
i thought this was all about the 18th century.

hi does anyone have any bad ministry experiences to share or really funny ones?.
some of mine were:.
- having water sprayed on us with a hose.
Having a householder gently push me over the edge of a balcony and hold a sword against my throat in the roughest part of the city. He wasn't threatening me he was illustrating how he would deal with an intruder. I recall being completely calm about it although my partner was freaked out. I was 18 and thought I was invincible.
Group of kids cornered us in a snowball fight one night in a housing scheme, it was hilarious.
some who are not disfellowshipped are still shunned i also know there’ are disfellowshipped ones that family still associate with..
I'm not dfed but i'm shunned by everyone who knew me until I was 30, including my family.

Have you read Oryx & Craik? Another great Atwood dystopia, although I've not read the rest of the Madaddam trilogy as it gave me repeated Armageddon dreams (hadn't long exited). I've just read Hag-Seed which is completely different and reminded me of that other great Canadian author Robertson Davies.
