Dear Englishman,
I think I might have been tempted to say to her, 'well that's ok, I didn't invite you to JOIN me for tea, just to make ME a cuppa.' So make the friggin tea b!tch!

example 1. ray franz was disfellowshipped for being seen eating a meal whilst sat at a table with a disfellowshipped person.
example 2. i was recently told by my customer's jw secretary that she was sorry but she could not make me a cup of tea because it was against her witness principles to drink / eat with a df'd person.
yet, i think i understand now what the scripture at 1 corinthians 5.

in whatever stage of leaving the organization that you're in, do you find yourself bitter?
sometimes. not once a day. not even once a week. but sometimes it will still last for a few days. that is when I usually come to this forum for some encouragement and then take a break from it all for a few days. Usually the bitterness comes into it for me around the issue of my career, or lack of. I am disabled now and I don't have the health that I gave up to pioneer, so it is not something I can just pull myself up by the boot straps and get out of now. And I suffer financially because of it. And so does my husband, who had nothing to do with JWs ever. So I get bitter about all the wasted years of health that I did have and gave away to them without so much as a thank you or a gold watch to retire with....
But it has finally gotten to the point where I can remember some good times too. Where I can see that if I had not been raised a JW I may have made some costly mistakes and I would not even know my husband now. And I have also come to realize that he has reason to be bitter about wasted potential and wasted opportunities too--and JWs were not even involved!
I would not go so far as to make the comments that I have seen on here about how it has all added up to who I am and I am grateful for the life lessons--hard as they were---that in my opinion is crap! LOL No one NEEDS to suffer to become strong. I SURVIVED my experiences, I don't owe them anything.

so what gives the people who do not believe in a spirit world comfort ?
I don't know about anyone else on this board who might have psychic gifts (see Spice's thread) but I do not always get 'comfort' out of seeing the way my mother will die! I believe in the spirit realm because I have no other choice, or explanatuion for my own experiences with it. But I do not believe it to be what most people who believe in it thinks it is.
I think paranormal is just normal we have not discovered yet and supernatural is still natural---just not yet explained. Geez, we learn something new everyday in scientific fields...I think it is pretty presumptuous to think humans have it all figured out at any given time! Occult merely means hidden. fear is ignorance.
Ravyn -still no takers.....chicken?

not every psychic channeler can tell the future. these are two entirely different 'gifts'. I have had premonitions, but only ones that would concern me personally or someone I was close to. I read tarot cards for myself and others. One of the premonitions I got about 2 months ago that has yet to play out is that I saw the deaths of my mother and my husband's father by catching some kind of respiratory illness. I did not get a time frame on this, but it definitely looked like it happened to them both at the same time period and it was some kind of 'plague' thingy. This was way before I heard of SARS, if indeed it might be SARS. I don't know, and probably won't know until or if something happens. But I can tell you one thing---when I did hear of SARS I nearly fainted! Now my husband's father has severe asthma and diabetes and was just diagnosed about two weeks ago with emphysema. My mother has high blood pressure and osteo-arthritis, but other than that is in pretty good shape. They live no where near each other. I hope I am wrong. I have warned them both. But I have been right too many times to ignore it.
even when I read cards, I usually fall short of 'prophesying', only because the cards can only 'see' the possibilities as they exist at that particular moment--things can change. I use the cards to show the possibilities and choices and to give some direction when the going is unclear.
But all that is totally different from channeling spirits. I have also been approached by spirits. So has my husband. and I think everyone has the abilities to 'channel'--they are just grossly untapped. John Edward ends every show telling you to make the connection on this side, so you won't need someone like him to do it from the other side. He also does not exploit people, he makes them feel good. How is that hurtful?
what it comes down to is that you cannot prove it, or disprove it. It is purely subjective.
but I will tell you what I will do----anyone, skeptic or no, who wants a reading--can email me and I will do one for you. You tell me nothing---just an email saying: 'please can I have a reading' with your return email. I don't even want to know your name. depending on how many requests I get it might take me a few days--but if you want you can start a thread and post the readings and your thoughts.
any takers?

but i was so wrong!
my daughter just got home.
you all know i dressed her up, painted her nails, curled her hair, and sent her off to my favorite cousin's wedding.
Ok Esmeralda,
time to drop the ghost and get some substance! You don't need to play victim to these disrespectful ingrates any longer! If they won't respect you, time to make them fear you! Now this may sound cruel---but I speak from personal experience as we all do on this board----feel the self-pity, wallow in it even, then leave it behind with a vengeance! The BEST way to prove to them how wrong they are is for you to go on to have a happy, productive, successful life without them! So do it! You have it in you---you are kind, caring, creative, smart---nothing holding you back but circumstance---and circumstance you can get a handle on and learn to control. Let them know how they screwed up--tell them all--loud and clear! Then cut them off. Time for some tough love/disfellowshipping of your very own! Who says they are the only ones who can excommunicate ones whose standards dont measure up to their own? Feel the pain, then feel the anger and use the anger to get the power! They crossed the line this time---don't let them do it again! You can do it! Some of us have, some of us are still doing it---if we can do it --you can! We are here to help you and support you all the way---if you still wanna be a ghost---well then hell girl---be a friggin poltergeist! Make them have nightmares! Haunt them!
Draw the line. Don't give in. Then go out and get yourself a real life and be happy! Talk about hot coals on their heads! There is absolutely no reason for YOU to be the one gnashing your teeth! They are dupes.
Luvya!

as far as i'm concerned, the united states is in north america, just like canada and mexico.
so why do americans think "america" means only the us?
so often i hear americans talk about the us as "america".. .
no, the continent is not America, it is NORTH America.
I still maintain it is only because 'United States' does not lend itself to anything that is not awkward.

do the people from the UK call themselves United Kingdomites? no, they say British or English or Irish or Welsh or Scottish. and the individual states in the US do have names for the people who hail from them. I am a New Jerseyite or New Jerseyan. I was also a Californian, an Idahoan, a Vermonter and now a Virginian.

back when i was younger every dream i would have would come true.
it kinda freaked me out since they were not always good dreams.
i don't remember too many of my dreams anymore but a couple weeks ago i did and it did partially come true the very next day.
ok--now I know why I like this group of people....I would not be considered a weirdo!
I lived in SoCal for 9 years and I could HEAR the earthquakes before they happened. It was like a tremendous crack like the earth was ripping. Only thing I have ever heard that came close to that sound was when I was on an Alaskan cruise and we got close to the calfing of the huge glaciers. But when the ice sluiced off it sounded like the sky was ripping...earthquakes have a deeper growling sound.
ever since I was a little kid, animals, wild and pets would come to me when they were hurt or in trouble and alot of times to die. Not a happy thing for a kid. But I have taken the pain of death from many creatures and I know they come to me to do that for them. I can speak to them and understand what they say to me too.
I can also sense energies, and I can feed on them. Mostly elementals and nature, rather than humans(humans Bleh! yucky!). I have at times manipulated elements(aka magick). Magnetism and electricity affects me easily. So do colors and music. I get premonitions and also remember past lives in detail and have even found one of my graves--long weird story. People have always seen spirits around me and this meant that from the age of about 2 I frequently had my toys burned for demons.
This is the main reason why when I finally got out of the Borg I went into witchcraft--I had been accused of it my whole life!

critical thinking requires first of all an open mind.....but dont get defensive---I am not a JW anymore, it does not matter to me that everyone must believe the way I do. I stopped knocking on doors 7 yrs ago. I know what I believe and what it is based on, and it is good with me. So if you don't believe it, you don't believe it. I don't see a conflict there.
