remember the character Nellie Olsen on Little House on the Prairie ? THAT is my mother in law.She is a back stabbing, manipulative, passive-aggressive, gossiping, stupid, lazy, princess. Atleast you have your husband on your side. It took almost 6 years of pure Hell and ultimatums for my husband to see her as anything but a saint. My father in law and sister in law are as bad or worse. They are sick people. I have wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on them. Never again.
My mother's only piece of advice to me, I unfortunately ignored. It was "marry and orphan".

we can't agree on a name for our soon to be born baby boy.. i love the name tristen.
he hates it.. he wants a basic name like bobby, tony, etc.. is there a name that sounds like tristen but isn't?.
give me some ideas if you can.
I like Connor for a boy and Treasure for a girl.
Brennan, Hunter, Ryder, Kendrick, Drisden, Kevin, Edan, Keller, Roan, Jaidan and Bron are some of my favorites.

new strategy to da/df millions who have left.
i'm wondering if there isn't a new policy of da'ing all those who no longer attend or are inactive "publishers" (find that in the bible!).
i've read a number of threads on this board whereby people are now being hunted-down, nazi-fashion, if when queried, "are you one of jw?

everytime I see 'FDS' I think of Feminine Deoderant Spray. and they think they are a 'sweet-smelling odor' to Jehovah? Kinda' puts me in mind of the phallic stick they held up to his nose......

the way to fix the ignorance of the brothers to an announcement of the elders that you DAd yourself, when in fact there was no such letter written is to take out an announcement in the local paper(before the so-called meeting with the elders if you have to), run it for 3 consecutive Sundays stating that you have not written any letter and any other information you might want to include. It can be written like a legal notice or like a personals ad. I guarantee someone will read it, even if you have to make a phone call ahead of time and tell some of your old friends or relatives that it will be there. Nothing gets something done faster than an announcement on the Service Meeting telling you not to----eg using the internet.

the beliefs, practices and rituals of the church of satan have few, if any, points of similarity with the christian concept of satan.
the cos' concept of satan is pre-christian, and derived from the pagan image of power, virility, sexuality and sensuality.
satan is viewed as a force of nature, not a living quasi-deity.
In my OPINION, there are three different kinds of "Satanists" with many many shades and degrees in each category. However most pagans and all christians lump "satanists" in the same gravy.....a negative one. So for reference if anyone is interested, and of course this is only my OPINION, not fact(as if fact was even an option...)---
Satanists:
Pagan(Traditional Satanists): one who believes in a deity/deities/aspects of deities, who predated the xtian adoption of a bad guy image, usually a horned god or a dark goddess(most call themselves Luciferians to distinguish the enlightening/gnostic aspects of Satan rather than the rebellious nature divided on the issue of whether or not to practice magick, but usually very into ritual;
Anti-Xtian(call themselves Traditional Satanists---but generally piss off all the other Satanists by doing so): one who actually worships the xtian idea of a satan or devil(usually fund among rebellious youth goth groups and not accepted by MOST other groups calling themselves Satanists--these are the ones who are stereotyped as sacrificing virgins, pets and babies.)many are into Chaos magick(altho generally NOT well educated in such), shapeshifting and literal or energy(psi) vampyrism and anything else that they think will shock or piss off their parents. Cult followers of movies.
Atheist/Humanist(Modern Satanists): ones who embrace the idea of Satan as depicted in modern day religions to represent personal freedom, empowerment, enlightenment, self-perpetuation, and personal responsibility(most likely Libertarian in their political veiws and very self-actualized, intellectual people). also divided on the issue of magickal practice, usually the ones supporting it are into thelema and chaos. Usually followers of Anton LaVey's brand of 1960's Satanism. Divided after Dr. LaVey's death into two camps---very nasty rivalry due to rightful inheritance.
I personally have come to the conclusion that since we have two hands---right and left---that maybe both canprove useful at the proper times. My pagan path of Stregheria I do not consider to be a right-hand path, because it has no rede governing personal conscience and cursing. But, especially in matters of healing I can see the benefits of Wiccan et al and even Xtianity. My second 'rule' in Chaos Magick is--IF IT WORKS KEEP IT UNTIL IT QUITS.

by now many of you know i'm studying wicca, am in contact with a high priestess of a coven who's graciously answering many questions i have, and i'm also studying tarot cards online.. this past weekend the exercise with lesson three on the tarot was to do some sample readings.
some odd things have happened since then.
i bolded them for easier finding.. since then, my youngest daughter and i have heard a scratching sound that i took to be birds on the spouting, though we couldn't see it.
ok I am apologizing. It has not been my experience to actually meet a Wiccan who was as serious about witchcraft as some practicing other forms of it. And I lived in Massachusetts and California. But I will admit that there may be someone out there. I have two problems with Wicca and i will be honest about it here. I don't like the idea that Wiccans feel the need to impose their Rede and Law of Three etc on anyone, and dont deny it! I have found it to be similar to JWs answer about blood transfusions---"oh we dont say you CANT have one, BUT if you do we will kick you out..." most Wiccans I have known would say, "oh I cant give you a love spell--it is like rape" or "sure you can curse someone but if you do it will come back on you times three!" Bovine Crapola!
that was number one. here is number two: I have found Wicca to be so politically correct that they will make up a history just to give themselves a pedigree, again like another group we are all familiar with... Just tell the froggen truth! Wicca is a neo group which borrows traditions from other neo groups that may or may not have any historical significance--who cares how old your Book of Shadows is? I hate the dishonesty of my experience of Wicca.
So I am sorry if I offended individual Wiccans on this list, I don't know you and I certainly don't know how you practice your craft.
But as far as demonic activity coming from any Wiccan studies or Tarot classes...you might as well blame the Abominable Snow Man. Or William Blake's evil half god, Sabaoth Jehovah.

ok peoples lets get this straight. WICCA isONE FORM of witchcraft. It is not the only form.
So please do not judge all witches by that broomstick(HAHA)! Wicca uses rules and ethics based on moral judgements(hmmmmm..reminds me of something else, but I just can't put my finger on it....)anyway, Wicca is so 'white-lightish' that there is no 'dark side' to fear. Now if you are talking about some other forms of witchcraft, then maybe you might be talking about dark as well as light, however they are not JUDGED as good or bad, but simply as being what they are. And they are equally useful and come with consequences and responsibilities that grown-up people can choose for themselves without the help of rules, redes, and laws of three....
So if you feel some sort of 'evil', then perhaps it is coming from left over Watchtowers in your attic. I seriously doubt it is coming from tarot cards or Wiccan studies.

"but we will burn incense unto the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and ours princes... jeremiah 44:17 .
there is but one christ jesus who is the king of kings and lord of lords.
"as it is written, there is none righteous, no not one.
that was approached in a very JW way. I mean after all lets get a better understanding of catholicism by asking someone who obvious hates catholicism...
you can't use the argument of sola scriptura against catholics since it does not even apply to them!
who cares if catholicism doesn't agree with the bible---I don't agree with the Bible. that is an argument FOR catholicism not AGAINST it! Catholics feel the Church came before the Bible which came out of the Church. not the other way around like protestants, who incidentally would not exist without Catholics. And Luther did not intend to create a new religion or even a sect, he wanted to reform Catholicism, he thought it was worth saving. Protestants threw the baby out with the bath water. If I were to be any xtian--it would be catholic. Rabid American Protestantism, aka Fundys, are fanatics and generally in this area of the country where I live(eastern TN) white trash. So Jesus' thing about by their fruits you will know them--works against everyone around here but the Catholics. The Catholics just brought me a turkey for Thanksgiving--my husband has been laid off since July 31 and every fundy in town knows this.
