  80's pop music..didn't you love it?

  i just know brummie will be here with me on this one, but wasn't the eighties pop music just the best (maybe i'm getting old here at 32) but hey, bring back wham!

  and duran duran, nik kershaw, howard jones kate bush aha etc etc.....just great.....reminds me of all my school days, being naughty and getting detention on more than one occasion.

  there was no better decade for music.. union of the snake scott

  and download the FREE player and for the 80's fans load "Generation 80's Retro" by JavaJaneRetro- plays all the best 80's and not just Top 40--alot of wonderful B sides too! And another great one is "Renegade 80's" by Renegade_Radio2- alot of weird 80's stuff. This is a free servce and there are thousands of radio stations available--everything from 20'-30'-40's, 50's, 60-70's, 80's, 90's to classical, rock, gothic, hip hop, irish, do-wop...you name it! my sister turned me on to that site and now I am up till 1 or 2 AM listening to it! --like now.

  Does anyone know this?

  it seems that my mom and one of my sister's disagree about a wt teaching.

  (both jw's) i'm wondering if anyone here knows who is right....according to the wt that is.... it's found at 1thes.4:13-18. about the coming of the lord, aka the rapture.

  my mom says that this already happened and that's what i remember the teaching to be, while my hard core dubby sister insists that it hasn't.

  the resurrection STARTED to happen in 1914-1919 by the raising of those who died previous to that date en masse and continues on (the twinkling business) as each new one dies. So the whole twinkling thing did START after 1919.

  so both are technically right. if you consider that right.

  Since leaving the org..what do you do with the time that you now have free?

  after quitting meeting attendance, study for meetings and field service we gain alot of time.

  i wasn't used to having that time to just do nothing and i've never been used to doing just nothing (relaxing and having time to stop and smell the roses).

  so i joined the pto, my kids signed up for sports, i became a parent volunteer at the school, i became a coach and the list goes on.

  FREE TIME? after wasting my youth and young adulthood in the borg I needed to go back to school, find a career, make a relationship, and learn how to live. I have not had one minute of free time since I walked out the KH door!

  what a waste of time that was! my biggest regrets in life.

  Catholic Communion tastes like unflavored chips of ice cream cones and the wine is sort of sherry-ish. Very dry wafers and hard to keep from sticking to the roof of your mouth, and I always think of the superstition of not biting the wafer because Jesus' bones were not broken(but that IS a superstition and you ARE allowed to bite it and chew it.) It dissolves into a sticky paste, and hopefully you are in a church that also uses the cup and you get to take a goodly gulp of wine to wash it down. I like the taste of the wine-as I understand it, it is wine with holy water which is water spiked with certain incense-like herbs and blessed of course.

  I have a question that I have asked before and no one seems to know the answer to....

  why the heck is the US in particular and Christians in general so completely OBSESSED with Jews?

  I am not christian for one simple reason- I am not jewish! I don't hate jews, but they are only one small group of people in this world. and I am not ethnically related to them. why should I become something I am not? what is the deal with it?

  hmmmm I never thot of it before..but if you lived for ever you could smoke and drink and eat fatty foods and get sunburn and have unprotected sex and take drugs.....well that would last me about 6 months, then I would be bored.

  What should we reply when invited to memorial?

  when my mil invites my husband to the memorial he plans on saying, "well i've already been to the memorial before.

  if you've been there once, there's no need to go again since the talk is the same mumbo-jumbo year after year and i'm not anointed anyway.".

  what do you plan on saying or have you said?

  when it looks like a JW is coming up your walk to invite you to the Memorial have your husband draw a quick '666' and pentagram on your forehead with a washable marker.....

  then tell them yes you would be glad to come--do they need anymore black candles? you got plenty of extras, you could bring them if they want?

  (this works well for JWs in service too-even better if you answer the door naked)
