if we can make ten phone calls on this newspaper reporter's voice mail regarding the pedophile issue and JWs we may be able to get Johnson City Tn to rethink their 'relationship' with JWs (and all the money they THINK they will rake in) with hosting the conventions!

this may be one tiny step in that everyone can have a part in! it will make you feel SUPER for standing up for what you know is right!

i just will be posting more of these things as they come, but get a load of this... the article itself is of no real interest... it is their proud reaction to it i am getting at.

they are passing this article around the whole state of virginia.

I just called Matthew Lane's voice mail and left him a LONG message about JWs and pedophilia and told him to go to silentlambs.org to find out about it. I also told him I was making copies of my information and sending it out to all the papers in the area.

PLEASE call him too. if we fill up his voice mail he will have to do something about it. I left my name and city and state---but if you can't leave your name--atleast say where you are from so he knows this is not just a local thing! please do this!

you know, the more I think about this..the more serious I get about it---is there a place on the web that has all the pedophile info together...newspaper clippings..etc...where I can print out a copy and send it to Johnson City convention center and newspapers and maybe even some church groups for good measure?let me know. email me if possible---or message me here.

Johnson City newspapers and local politics and Chamber of Commerce, etc, needs to be blitzed with the information about JWs and pedophiles.....

of course, knowing the area as I do --it would make more of a stir there if it was mentioned that the JWs are not racially segregated.

if it was not afraid of being acused of terrorism I would tell "y'all" just how much I hate the Borg AND TN.

What can I expect??

my husband is getting baptized in 3 weeks.

i have had some tell me to expect some big changes.

as of now, i am agnostic...probably will be for the rest of my life.

for a marriage already in trouble this is disasterous. you need to think about this carefully, especially with two kids involved. If he was not worth staying with before JWs he will not even be close to worth it after them. do you really want your kids exposed to this and have their lives ruined?

I am sorry for your loss. But unfortunately life goes on and you have some big decisions to make--soon.

Good Luck. Try to set up a nonJW network of friends and family that you can rely on in this time of stress.

Were you married at the Kingdom Hall ? How bad was your wedding reception ?

i'm just wondering...... i remember going to some wedding receptions for couples who got married at the kingdom hall,.

and i hate to be mean but, super boring, and bad, how bad you ask ??

ok here we go ..... - the worst had to be one couple played kingdom meolodies for their wedding dances, i couldn't believe it.. - no alcohol (i'm sure we all experienced a few of these), reception was over by 9:30.. - no music at all, just a gathering of people, and they ended the reception with a prayer, i thought i was at an assembly.. - food, like if you can't afford to get married don't, like frozen stuff bought at your local grocery store, and still in the package when you got up to the tables, how tacky.. - you could always tell a couple who couldn't afford much, when you had to drive 50 miles into the back woods to find some dinky little community hall they rented for $100.. - i remember one where the bride was pregnant, i was really surprised they allowed them to use the kingdom hall.. - another classic was, they had this band (of all jw's of course) and man they were bad.

OT-- what's with this glut of Newbies who think they can change history by coming in here and telling all of us how great being a JW is/was? Methinks I smell a conspiracy---not to worry tho, they are obviously amateurs.

i am new to the board and have read countless gripes and pokes at "the organization" but i fail to find one interesting question.. in preface... i was disfellowshiped myself over 5 years ago.

in that time, i had done much searching, visited many churches and faithes.. going to some for as short as one session and some as long as 6 - 8 months.

after i felt my search was in vein i stopped attempting to go to these shurches all together.. i never forgot how to pray through.

I learned alot in my lifetime, which was lived for the first 34 years within the Borg. However, nothing that I learned could not have been learned-probably easier and in less time-outside the Borg. I wasted my time totally. As far as I am concerned the Borg is useless and you are lucky if you get out alive and in time to live some of your precious life.
