Creationism or evolution, or do I believe in god

in the past year or so i've been completely evaluating whether i believe in god.

i studied marine biology at uni for the last 3 years and it completely change my view on evolution.

even when i was in i believed in evolution to a certain extent (ie the flood made no sense, the earth being 60000 odd years old etc etc) and this has made me question the existence of god.

Believer, atheist, agnostic, I think I am still a believer but in A god, not the ones people are killing each other over. Why? I believe that something must have started it, as I believe (and I stress this is my own opinion) that life cannot come from lifeless matter. So yes in a sense I believe in A god but I completely reject religion.

ps I think creationists are loons

The kindness of (worldly) strangers

yesterday i went surfing, when i had finished and got changed i tried to start my car, no joy.

there were about 12 cars in the car park and the occupants of 8 of the cars all tried to help out at some point as they could see i was having difficulties, one guy even drove to a garage 5 miles away to get me a coffee i didn't even ask for as it was a freezing cold day and a couple of them let me sit in their cars to warm up while i waited for the rac.

contrast this to a time when i was in and my car wouldn't start (different car lol) in a kh car park and all i got was snarky comments, or advice in passing but no one stopped to help out.. i know who i prefer, has anyone else been helped by the evil worldly's while ignored by the loving jw's.

i was surfing at Bantham, South Devon, England. Yes the water was cold, but the surf was perfect one of those days when everything comes together.

Surfing is the only time I feel completely free. I surfed hell of a lot when I was in. Often counselled on it, f%^k you i said (in my mind)

Cant really rember, CA at Plymouth Pavillions Sept/oct 1992-93. In my old kingdom hall and vivildly remember all the false smiles and congratualtions. Did'nt get baptized cus i felt close to god but because it was expected, not really in but when i look back i remeber i used to beleive this shit. I rember the sunday eve after the assembley, it was the same every assembly, get mind bendingly shit faced with other likeminded lovers of the borg

Just read that article, first time i've read a borg article years. Its so sad what a wasted life that could have been so fullfilling, instead he decided to dedicate his life to peddaling lies.

when i was about 15 i was made to go on the service with a super dub pioneer sister (you know the type, ugly with no dress sense and a wimp of a husband) and as it was the school holidays it was an all dayer (suit and tie in blazing hot sunshine) and she wanted to go back to her place for lunch, she made me sit in the garden while she ate inside as we could'nt be alone together because we might commit immorality (i would have rather cut it off).

has anyone else come across such stupid thinking within the borg.. p.s.

on the plus i side i got sunstroke in the afternoon, passed out cold.

bumped into an old acquaintance the other day, one of those who used to cross the road when they see me.

this time he was all smiles and even shook my hand.

to cut a long story short went for a pint and a chat and he apologised for his previous behaviour and he told me he is in the process of fading and this suprised me because he used to be a super pious dub.. he said the thing that made him start to think was when his 4yr old daughter asked him if her grandma was evil and he said of course not, her reply was why is jehovah going to kill her.

That statement opened his eyes and he started to look deeper at TTATT. His wife was pleased as she was only going along for the family. He said he was worried about what might happen when he finally makes the leap but said he'll deal with that when it happens. I trold him to take a look at this sight and read some of the experinces on here.

Really enjoyed the CONvention....why?

i remember when i was a mind cleansed(tm) jw i would listen to the talks when i wasn't napping.. on the long tiring drive home i'd say how i ''enjoyed(tm)'' the sessions and felt ''encouraged(tm)''.. .....and yet i couldn't recall a single ''point(tm)'' made.

i couldn't remember what it was that actually made me feel good.. on one occasion i asked the family what they found ''encouraging(tm)'' or interesting.. tumble weed.

When i was in, a large group of us would go to a waterside pub in Exeter on the sunday after the convention. Was a good time to meet up with friends you only see once or twice a year and i remember the spiritual conversations about some of the talks and especially the dramas. They went along the line of "what was that about", or how deluded those giving experinces were and just alot of plain old ridicule. Alot of it coming from those i thought were stong in the troof. I think thats the only thing i miss about the borg. I often wonder how many of those old friends are still in.
