The religion of atheism is one that is easily proven wrong. There is little evidence to back up the theory of evolution, the big bang, etc. (If we came from monkeys then where are all the hundreds of missing link species that should be around today?) There is much evidence to prove it false.
The universe is too infinitely complex to have been an accident. The evidence of an intelligent creator surrounds us and penetrates us. The fact alone that we exist should be evidence enough to know that somewhere out there is a God.
Before anyone says, "where is proof that there is a God ?", I would like for them to think, "where is the proof that there isn't." The fact is, it is impossible that there is no creator. All the matter in the universe, even one atom or particle, has to have an origin. Plainly stated: matter just doesn't pop out of nowhere. And yet time and time again this is what atheists say. Look at the wonders in the world, the universe, life itself. It had to have an origin.
The one and only explanation is a creator. This argument is always presented to my attention, "well then where did the creator come from?" It has always struck me odd that they are willing to believe that the universe came from nothing, but they are not willing to believe the universe came from something. A creator is the only explanation. What I say in refutation to their argument is this: "A rational mind must conclude that something super natural happened to bring the universe into existence; for the universe cannot bring itself into being."
Now that it is settled that there is a creator, the next question is "who is this Being?" Agnostics believe that there is one, but do not believe that we humans can know who He is or even if He is still around today. Like atheists, they believe all religions are man made and none of them contain the truth.
When asking ourselves if the creator has ever made Himself known to man, we also must ask why wouldn't He. This God created everything for some reason or another, and it wouldn't make any sense for Him not to visit and make Himself known to His own creation. There simply has to be truth out there, there simply has to be meaning to life. Not convincing enough? Of course not, it takes faith to believe in any certain religion. But remember, it takes more faith not to believe in a God at all.
When you find that you have nowhere else to turn, when life is throwing you a curve, when your have to look up to see the bottom, that you will turn to God. You will search for God. For deep down inside, deep in the heart of hearts, man knows that there is a God. It can be denied, it can be suppressed, but everyone knows it to be true.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." A famous quote from the proclaimed Word of God. But how can we know that it is real? There are so many other religions in the world, how do we know that this one is the true one?
By the simple fact that the complete Bible, written by dozens of authors over a time spanning hundreds of years, is free from error and has stood un-tampered with for thousands of years, should be evidence enough to capture the attention of any scholar. Despite the claims of scoffers and spiritually deceived men and women, the Bible is infallible. "Glaring contradictions" and "inconsistencies" is brought about by the twisting and misinterpretation of scripture. When proper context and meaning is taken from a passage, then the truth will shine. The Bible is inerrant. It's promises have always come through, it's prophecies have always come true. Its words are timeless, thought provoking, wise, true, comforting, convicting, and authoritative. It has simplicity, and yet has overwhelming complexity. By no attempts of man could a book be so intricately woven from cover to cover.
These words taken from an article by John Piper cannot be more true.
"Jesus Christ, as he is presented to us in the New Testament, and as he stands forth from all its writings, is too single and too great to have been invented so uniformly by all these writers. The force of Jesus Christ unleashed these writings; the writings did not create the force. Jesus is far bigger and more compelling than any of his witnesses....Something stupendous unleashed these diverse witnesses to tell these stunning and varied, yet unified, stories of Jesus Christ."
"The early church was an indomitable force of faith and love and sacrifice on the basis of the reality of Jesus Christ. The character of this church, and the nature of the gospel of grace and forgiveness, and the undaunted courage of men and women even unto death do not fit the hypothesis of mass hysteria. They simply were not like that. Something utterly real and magnificent had happened in the world and they were close enough to know it, and be assured of it, and be gripped by its power. That something was Jesus Christ, as all of them testified, even as they died singing.
The prophesies of the Old Testament find stunning fulfillment in the history of Jesus Christ. The witness to these fulfillments are too many, too diverse, too subtle and too interwoven into the history of the New Testament church and its many writings to be fabricated by some great conspiracy. Down to the details, Jesus Christ fulfilled dozens of Old Testament prophecies that vindicate his truth."
The history of the Jews, the exact fulfillment of the prophecies of Messiah, combined with the prophecies planted diversely through the Bible, produce a very strong argument in favor of the Bible believers. Much research can be done, and much evidence can be gathered in favor of the Bible. Over 25,000 archeological finds have validated the Bible story's authenticity, and the countless testimonies of millions of believers can validate that the Gospel works. The early church was persecuted badly, many of them were executed. All but one of the apostles died gruesome torturous deaths. Why? Because they had the truth and they knew it. They suffered for the cause of Christ and were glad to do that. Devotion like that does not come from lies.
The Lord Jesus Christ came exactly as predicted. He came to earth loving, He died saving, He rose justified, He still has a tremendous impact in the lives of those who love Him today -- and He is coming again. Won't you accept the love of Christ? You to can experience the "joy that passeth all understanding".
