Matt and Rayzor, you both commented on how unkind it would have been to have married a sister... I'm glad you both had the sense to see through that. My Ex didn't. After a horrible seven years of marriage it was actually a relief to discover that he was gay, I had been blaming myself. I've come a long way in understanding why he married me to begin with, hearing your thoughts on the subject helps. Thanks! I enjoyed your life story, Matt.. no boring in the least! If I may ask, what did your mum die of? They kept saying it was just the flu, what was it really? If this is to morbid, ignore it, please! Mystla

My Story
by mattnoel inok so chevy asked me to put my story on here, a lot of you will probably find it boring but will post it anyway.
am now 24 and live in kent, england with my boyfriend dean, we are really happy together in fact i have never been so happy and we plan to marry later on this year.
i was brought up a jw from a baby by my mother, my father was never really bothered about it all and my mum fell away, divorced him and married another guy and then went back to the witnesses, he was not a witness and they met at my mums place of work, she was a dj for a local radio station and he was a chauffeur.

Climbing the Walls
by Sargon ini've been planning this for 4 months, well sort of.
the planning took 5 minutes the procrastination has taken up the rest of the time.
after 26 years of indulging, i've finally tried to quit smoking.

Hmmm, I think I like Buffman.
I've never smoked, either, but it sounds like a good suggestion to me.

I've been out for almost three years and have been sick off and on all winter, mostly with stomach stuff, so maybe it's something thats going around? and your stress level is making it really hard to kick it? I know my stress level has been up and that never helps my health.
Here's hoping you get to feeling better, spring is on the way, that usually helps!
Mystla
Edited to add: I meant that I've been out 3 years, so I don't think my current bout of flu, etc. is related to leaving.. didn't want you to think I meant that I've been sick for three years!

Question; Are Astronauts Heros?
by whyhideit insince the columbia burned up, i have heard many references in the news to those astronauts being heroes.
what i wonder though, what makes a person a hero?
is every astronauts a hero, or do they need to die to be a hero?

I think that going up in a shuttle that old was pretty heroic.
Sarcasm aside, I think that doing something potentialy life threatening for the good of others (I think that the space program qualifies) should be considered heroic.

# #5 Yuengling LagerI've never tried #5, but I do drink the others.. Guinness, on tap, is my favorite, though.

p.s. Dad always drank bud lite, so, until I was old enough to buy my own, I thought all beer tasted like that (uck)

ever had the door slammed in your face?
by nightwarrior inhow did you handle the embarrassment?.
did you feel good about it, and say that 'it was done to jehovah' and take pride in it?.
were you ever assaulted on the ministry?.

Um, Searchin... were you in Oregon at the time? Your story gave me deja vu (sp?) It sounds exactly like something that happened to me.. two older sisters, another about my age, and myself.. guy threatened to use his shotgun, we got stuck, he came out with his tractor and got us unstuck... this is so weird!
I've had my share of slammed doors, lots of swearing, and three times that guns came into it.. people can be really unpleasant.. It didn't help any that I really hated bothering people at home.

Have You Been Divorced?
by Outaservice indivorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.
probably more so than the population in general.. if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?.
possibly you got married way too young as the end was coming and there is no marriage in the resurrection if you died.

Married at 20, to a JW who was 26. Divorced after 7 years together (he got the itch) I was a good little Dub and would have stayed unhappily married for many more years if I hadn't confronted him about his coldness toward me. He admited he didn't love me any more, but was willing to stay married! Lol, I think he was just happy to have a live-in maid!! I was outta there!!
It was shortly after that it came out that he is gay.. he lives with his boyfriend now, hasn't worked for two years.. and has recently started going back to meetings..

Updated Report by Yizuman - Part Two
by Yizuman inok i went to the welfare office this morning.. the case worker was a very nice lady, her name is maria.
all smiles and very friendly too.. she knows about the wal-mart situation and has gotten alot of employees who have gotten fired for whacked out reasons.. she needs some info from wal-mart, but problem is that wal-mart tends to screw with the social workers trying to get info from them and she's had been given alot of run arounds from them before.
so she told me it would be 2-3 weeks before she gets any info from wal-mart before i can get any help from them.

Yizuman,
I've been following your plight for awhile now, and I just want to say that I'm sorry you are going through this. I wish there was something I could do to help. I know how frustrating this kind of situation can be.
Keep your chin up, things will get better! If nothing else, spring will be here soon and it will be warmer! People are usually (in my experience) more cheerful and willing to help in the spring.
You've been making all the right moves, it's only a matter of time before it all comes together for you.

these are from a book called disorder in the court, and are things.

Have you readjusted your language???
by confuzcious inhere's something fun to think about.... since being da or df or just not going to meetings, have you readjusted your language?.
i'm taking about "going back" to saying things like.... "wow, you were lucky.".
"bless you.
-
Mystla
I'm with Katie, I love saying "bless you" when someone sneezes now. I always hated not being able to say anything, like maybe people were waiting for me to say it. So now I say "bless you!!" loud and clear with conviction!
I'm afraid my general use of foul language has gotten pretty bad, fortunately (or luckily) it doesn't really bother me.. It's actually a relief to be able to express anger and frustration vocaly.
I've also started using phrases such as "Happy birthday" "Merry Christmas" and "trick or treat" (yeah, I know I'm too old for it)
I've begun calling the KH "church" and the religion in general "cult" though those were words I used before, just not in that context!
It's nice to be able to speak my mind without having to sensor everything I say.. I got chewed out once for saying "I screwed up" and another time when I said something "sucked" No one I know now would even blink over that or worse.. ahh, freedom!
