so... was it all just one clever marketing scam???
i'm about to believe that this was the reaction the cartoon network was looking for... .
if it was cartoon network is lucky nobody got killed while beantown was on lockdown...
People are sooo paranoid! I can't believe how badly this was over-reacted to. If those guys get a lawyer worth his salt they will endup getting compensated for false arrest and unlawful imprisonment or something. Thats gotta be worth a couple hundred grand apiece.

when i was recently in the us, i was asked if it was true that we put a pickle/cucumber in our christmas tree for the kids to search for.. the answer was: no, and hardly anyone in germany has ever heard about that custom.. the truth is that some people from the us do this believing it to be a german tradition.
believe me, it is not.. here is a report on the origin (seems to be a clever marketing idea):.

I think it's a fine tradition.. I wonder if I can hang a pickle from my festivus pole? Hmmm.. might be too easy to find.

they came over one at a time to check on their dad.
my oldest daughter answered the door when the first twin came over.
my youngest came out of her room and said "what are you muslim now?".
It was nice that they came by.. sometimes something like this is all it takes to loosen the iron grip the JW's have on the shunning family policy. Who knows.. maybe next time they won't wait for their dad to be sick to come by and say hi?
I'm sure you were glad to see them no matter what.

i started this page on wikipedia it should say greyfox for pretty much the whole first page of history.
i guess i forgot to sign in but greyfox is me.. .

It's so awesome that this kind of info is available to the general masses. If I knew nothing about the witnesses and wanted to learn more I would go to wiki.. hopefully that's what more and more people will be doing before they agree to study with the dubs. If people can see this side of it before the brainwashing can begin....
Sure glad i'm no longer a dub trying to increase my number of bible studies

.
interesting overturn of a case brought by the dubs.
I particularly enjoyed the last paragraph:
The Jehovah's Witness lawsuit in Denmark shows the same internal dynamic as in the Catholic Church, and based on the allegations, the institutions have adopted matching strategies: hide as much as possible and when exposed, go on the offensive. Somehow, these institutions came to believe that they have a right to an internal, secret sphere where they cannot be held accountable for their culpability in the suffering of children. Fortunately, both Danish and California courts, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, are proving them to be very wrong.
After JW's have slammed the catholics on the child-abuse issue so many times.. the recent tract comes to mind.. to have the media beginning to point out the similarities btw the two is priceless.

a bit long, but i really need to vent, and i really need your replies.. my uncle is a jw, his wife and son and daughter-in-law are jw's, too.. they all moved away from family over 15 years ago, serving where the need was greater.. they went out west to new mexico, then other places.
they all broke off all contact with their .
parents (my uncles parents who are my grandparents, and my aunt's parents who i don't know well).
Their behavior is strange, to say the least. I don't think I would continue to try to contact them, as they obviously wish to be left alone. You may have to accept that this is a mystery you will never solve and let it go.
If you do contact his CO, do it from a viewpoint of concern, otherwise the CO will probably brush you off as a trouble maker. If you tell him everything from a concerned standpoint he will eventually get all the details and draw his own conclusions, like wether or not your Uncle should step down, etc.
Good luck, and keep us posted. I'm sure others here will have better advise.

ps.. are you sure they aren't in the witness protection program? (pun intended )
now i'm not going all girly or anything but kissing is still great!
if my wife is, for example, preparing a meal i might be able to kiss her on the side of the neck while she's peeling the potato's.
i know what you're thinking, 'that nic's a smooth ol' romatic operator'!.
My husband was told by his snotty EX that he was a "bad kisser" It's taken some time and encouragement but he has gotten to the point where he is relaxed and comfortable while smooching I could kick that bitch all the way to florida for putting that thought in his head to start with (she's in alaska)
A good kiss is a confident kiss. With love and tenderness behind it.
A little kissing on the back of the neck never hurt, either I love it when he does that.

ps.. I got the Tacoma Narrows ref.... been there, done that.. ugh!
All the BS aside......
I'm a little too squeamish to be a hunter. My brother does guided hunts in Alaska. He really enjoys it. He keeps his freezer full, the critter population gets thinned, everyone is happy.
He has a big white mountain goat mounted from a hunt several years ago. I didn't like the way it looked at me Then he told me the story. He and his buddy had been hunting all day, hiking over incredibly steep terrain (mountain goats like that) when they finally spotted this goat. It saw them at the same time and got up from where it had been resting and started to leave (smart) brothers buddy yelled "hey" at it and it stopped and looked back at them (not so smart) and my brother shot it dead, one shot. When they where getting it ready to pack out they discovered that all of it's many stomachs were empty and that it's jaw was broken. This was an old experienced goat who had just lost out during mating season and was on his way to a slow death due to starvation, my brother did it a favor.
I think that, as a society, we are too far removed from where our meat comes from. All we ever see is white cellophane packages at the grocery store.. how often do we really stop to think about the animal that gave it's life to feed us? Was the cow, crowded into a tiny pen all it's life, really better off than the deer that hunter joe shot? How much do we really know about where our meat comes from? How many of us are willing to even ask? or care?
I think that those who hunt for trophys and leave the meat to rot are wrong.... If you are going to kill it, don't waste it... I also think that those who hunt to fill their freezer are no different from the housewife buying a roast at the store.. we all gotta eat and we are omnivores.

not your average movie in that car chases do not seem to exist, such as to be perceived anyways :-) though i wouldn't agree with some of the more "new age" viewpoints, it's a nice piece of mind candy, that quantum mechanics/metaphysics thing.
and a few interesting opinions on the nature of god,...... a day in the life,...... .
We've been meaning to see that one, but haven't picked it up yet... hubby is reading the book, though, and is really enjoying it. He says they make a lot of good points but push it to the point of sounding like propaganda at times.
I think I'll wait and watch the movie
