the society reports millions of hours spent in the field service yearly.

when you were active did you follow theocratic instructions carefully and faithfully?.

You guys are soooo bad... you're all going to burn in hell!!!

I was always such a goody two shoes!! I didn't even count coffee breaks... not even the time it took to get to the coffee shop!!

but I wasn't as bad as one sister I went out with once (only once, I avoided her after this) I had a "really good door" and was there for almost an hour... when I got back to the car this sister was sooooo mad, cause she thought she couldn't count the time she had spent waiting in the car!! This was rural territory, mind you... so it wasn't like she could have been working the next street over or something. she was so mad she wouldn't speak to me all the way back to the hall (a 45 minute drive) ah yes, christian love, I remember it well.....

LETTING GO

some of you might remember that i fell in love with a jw.

that was two years ago and now i've decided to let her go.

i've done everything i know to do including trying to apply most every good thing i learned since meeting her.

Sounds to me like you are making a wise choice. A new year is a good time to begin new things, and to let old things go. Be strong, and know that you are making the right choice, the best choice, the one that is in your best interests!

Temporal Anomalies in Time Travel Movies

i love time travel movies ...back to the future, millenium, the twelve monkeys etc.... i just found this great site that analyses / explains some of the time travel 'twists'.

for instance, in twelve monkeys you are seeing the 6th or 7th iteration of the timeline.

interesting reading if you can get your head round it all !.

Forgiveness

is there a point when forgiveness becomes counter-productive?

when is that?

You can forgive an abuser, but not to the point that you allow the abuse to be repeated. If someone hits you and you forgive them, and they hit you again... do you forgive them again so it can all be repeated? If your spouse cheats on you, and you find out.. you have the option to forgive them, but if they do it again, should you?

I think that there is a differance between forgiving and enabling. As long as that line isn't crossed, forgive whomever whenever your heart motivates you to.

Time travel theories have always facinated me. I'm one of those annoying people who, after the movie, go on about how this or that wouldn't be possible, and paradox, etc. Drives everyone nuts, until they eventually point out that it's fiction and no one said it was possibe. (their way of saying "shut up already!)

I always hated it when star trek would kill off somebody that you knew they couldn't kill off... you knew they were going to have to "fix it" by having some kind of time anomaly.

I need to see Twelve Monkeys again, I've only seen it once and it made my head spin! My SO and I argued for quite awhile over possible interpretations of that one!

Want to help with some research?

as most of you know, i'm studying tarot cards.

each week a new lesson arrives via e-mail.. a couple of weeks ago, lesson 3 showed me how to do a three-card spread.

it's where a queston is asked, the 22 cards of the major arcana are shuffled, and the top three cards drawn.
