aye, you spelled it right, but you can call me Misty, if you like :) Mystla was a RPG character I used to play and was the "anonymous" name I used when I first signed on here. But I'm not afraid of "discovery" anymore. I am who I am..even if my mother did give me a rediculous name!

I just popped in to remind myself that I'm still not the only one who has delt with these issues. It's a little reassuring :)

this one is my biggest pet peeves.. growing up in the borg, i had a hard time finding any job, let alone a decent paying one.. i had to quit many jobs because my parents said "i was missing out to many meetings and field service.".
but how come the elders who worked at ford, chysler, gm, or any big factories, that worked shift work, and missed meetings every three weeks consistently for decades, and that was okay.
the response i would get was, "well they have a family to raise and look after.
I'm a cake decorator, I write "happy birthday" on cakes (gasp!) and do all of the holiday cakes.. including santa and the us flag.. I'd definately be forced to quit if I was still in.
i now have enough recipes to start putting this cookbook together.
129 recipes.
since we will be putting this on the internet with the hopes that other people besides us will buy it what do we want to say.
how about.. "The Oven Light gets brighter"... or.. "millions now living have never cooked!"
our niece, irene, who posts here as inky, sent me an email.
her 27 year old son is getting married in two weeks, and she posted a few days ago about how he didn't invite her to his wedding.. she told me i can post it as she doesn't want to read it again.. "dear mom.

(((Inky))) I don't post here very often, but I just had to respond to this one. I recieved a very similar letter from my sister a year ago. I know how much pain it caused me, I can only imagine how that pain would be multiplied coming from a son. Your reply was perfect, it moved me to tears, mostly because I miss my mother so much and wish that I could have just a little comfort or love from her. Your unconditional love for your son breaks my heart, I selfishly wish my own mother was the same. Mystla

I had a perfect bookbag once, it held everything just so, and I had it all broken in. I could reach into that bag and whip out whatever I wanted without even looking. The shoulder straps were just the right length for me, and it was appropriatly weather proof (It's wet here in Oregon) I bought that bag just after I started pioneering and used it until just before I quit (three years) If I'd been superstitious I'd have thought it was the loss of that bag that made things go wrong in the pioneering front. So, How did I lose it, you ask? While my Ex and I where on our honeymoon someone broke into my car (which we had left behind..I didn't take my bookbag on my honeymoon!) and that bag was the only thing stolen. I lost the bag, my reasoning book that had all my notes in it, and worst of all.. my return visit records! I have to laugh at the poor crook who thought he was getting a purse and it turned out to be a bag full of bible literature! I never did get another bookbag as comfy as that one... glad I don't need one anymore! Mystla

I'm 30, work for Costco, live with an Ogre (really!) and haven't been a JW for almost three years (yay!) after having been raised as one. We are in the process of buying an RV, and next winter I am going to quit my job and we are hitting the road! I have a dog and two cats, love to read, enjoy movies, and am passionate about animals, plants, wildlife, and nature in general. Mystla
did any of you hear any of the urban legends that jw's used to scare people into being deathly afraid of demons?
for example i remeber hearing that a child brough a smurf doll to a meeting and upon hearing the name jehovah uttered it got up and walked out.
got any j-dub urban legends?
How about the Satanists who asked the demons why they had no time for them.. and were told it's because the demons have to spend all their time going after JW children. oohhh, scary stuff! Mystla
ok so chevy asked me to put my story on here, a lot of you will probably find it boring but will post it anyway.
am now 24 and live in kent, england with my boyfriend dean, we are really happy together in fact i have never been so happy and we plan to marry later on this year.
i was brought up a jw from a baby by my mother, my father was never really bothered about it all and my mum fell away, divorced him and married another guy and then went back to the witnesses, he was not a witness and they met at my mums place of work, she was a dj for a local radio station and he was a chauffeur.
Matt and Rayzor, you both commented on how unkind it would have been to have married a sister... I'm glad you both had the sense to see through that. My Ex didn't. After a horrible seven years of marriage it was actually a relief to discover that he was gay, I had been blaming myself. I've come a long way in understanding why he married me to begin with, hearing your thoughts on the subject helps. Thanks! I enjoyed your life story, Matt.. no boring in the least! If I may ask, what did your mum die of? They kept saying it was just the flu, what was it really? If this is to morbid, ignore it, please! Mystla
