If I "want" a beer..is that "lust"?
by The Dragon insomeone on another forum was asking.."why is lust a sin"?.
like they knew the universal definition of the word or something,.. if i want something like a beer...is that "lust"?
if so is it a sin to "want" something?.

A really good beer is almost as good as sex... therefore it MUST be a sin.. ya heathens.

Are there any former COs or DOs here?
by exwitless insorry if this has already been asked before.
i was just curious, because i think it would be really cool to have a former "big wig" jw post here.

My sister's Hubby was just appointed as a CO, they left a couple months ago to go to their new circuit.
They are both very aware of their current status.. kinda makes me ill.

Maybe they thought I wouldn't notice? Unfortunaly I did notice.. I just interpreted it all wrong.. like a good little JW, I blamed myself for all our problems, including his complete lack of sexual attraction to me. But I'm completely over it now, can't you tell
Your post reminded me of my little brother doing the bible reading one thursday night.. no 12 year old boy should have to read about breasts in front of 100 people, the poor kid was so red he glowed. What's that one about his sister with small breasts? I'd go look it up but I don't have a bible handy I know it was solomon.... I was rather flat chested at that stage, so I was embarressed too

Decisions, Decisions!!
by Bumble Bee inwe are thinking of selling our house.
right now we can't move there, but want to retire up there.
we built a small cabin over the last two summers and spend most of the summer up there and about every other weekend in the winter.

We bought a piece of property last spring and are working on building on it. We are a little slow about getting it done (my husband is disabled and needs to rest a lot and can't sit if I'm working, so I rest with him) but we made some progress over the summer. It is so wonderful to be working on something together and our house, when we get it done, will be truely ours.
My husbands disability income went up enough last spring that I was able to quit my full-time job. We bought an RV to live in on our property and spent the summer clearing and putting up a storage shed. Hubby was pretty wiped out by then, and as we didn't have water or septic on the property yet, we decided to winter elsewhere. (it snows enough here that there is the possibility of getting snowed in for extended periods.. which could be a problem when we need to haul water in jugs from a couple miles away) I can't wait to get back and work on it some more. We are working on getting our permits during the winter so we can be ready to go come spring.
I know this isn't relevent to helping you decide what to do.. I just wanted to share
Good Luck!

Corporate Giants vs Watchtower
by lisavegas420 infrom pastor.russell.com web site i found this message from russell.
i thought it sounded like he was talking about the watchtower society.lisa.
corporate giants "these giants are usually headed by men of ability who thus far generally seem disposed to use their power in moderation.

"these modern corporate giants: they are great, powerful and cunning, to an extent which discourages the thought of their being conquered without divine interference"
Russel got at least one thing right, corporations have grown even more powerful since his time and are a major force behind some governments... I don't think we can expect a lot of "divine interference" so I guess we are stuck with 'em
I predict a future where our world is run by corporations.. but then I read to much sci-fi

Fluoroscope for the Feet !
by Amazing ini was watching the history channel today, and they discussed the shoe fluoroscope used in the 1940s and somewhat in the 1950s.
it was a device that used x-ray to help consumers see how their feet fit into the shoes they were buying.
the concept was that if one buys proper fitting shoes, then it will prove better for foot health, and shoes will wear better (implying that they will last longer).. then the problem statement: these fluoroscopes exposed the consumer to 75 rem per minute.

Thanks for the post, I thought it was interesting.
Every time I hear about some new wonderful medical device, pill, or diet I wonder what they will say about it 50 years later. ..and if the FDA approves it? Well, they have a lot of interest in approving or dis-approving things that has nothing to do with wether or not it's good for me :) We can't even get vegamite in the US, for crying out loud
Hmmm... maybe I should go back to that conspirecy thread
