Are YOU: rh negative ?
by RAYZORBLADE ini have always found the topic of blood/hematology, fascinating, and even moreso, the discussions regarding: rh compatibility.. are you rh negative?
if so, do you know your alpha designation: o, a, b, or ab ?.
even if someone is not interested, nor willing to take a blood transfusion, if you are a woman, and you are rh negative, and your husband/partner is rh positive, you can bet your bottom dollar, it'll matter in the near future.

FlyingHighNow. You know what, I did not know about that 'condition' where (some) fathers will produce only Rh+ babies.
This is indeed, interesting.
Azaria, I am quite certain, your blood type: -B, is much rarer that mine. I think it's about 3%.
That link you posted by the way FHN, is interesting. I've read quite a bit about that.
All very fascinating this topic of blood types, but specifically the rh negative subject.

It's -34, and I'm shoveling snow!
by Nosferatu inyeah, it's -34 degrees celcius, windchill is in the -50s (i guess their scale doesn't go any lower) and the boss came by to ask me to shovel snow.
various schools have been closed, apparently it's colder here than many places up north, and here i am, an electronics technician who just finished a college course which half was paid by the company, and i'm shoveling snow.
the measley 24 cent raise i got this year isn't worth it.

Nos...I hear ya man!
I think the coldest I experienced was when I lived in Regina, Saskatchewan back in 1992 (during one of their so called, mild winters). Still, that being said: -47C
Thankfully, it was still. Not a breeze.
Nos, your knees hurtin'? Get those longjohns on, or some good thermals, as I used to be bad for that as a kid/teenager. I hated wearing them, but later on....let me tell you, from an old fart like me, you'll be glad to wear them. If you are wearing them, good. But maybe an additional pair may help.
Take it easy: bundle up!

Stop the presses!!!
Has anyone, ever had "Great Lakes Brewery" beer from Cleveland, Ohio?
HOLY SMOKES!
That stuff is freakin' awesome, and stronger than a mules hind leg, and I ain't kiddin' ya folks!
Having staggered through Cleveland, Ohio a few times, I can tell ya, even a well seasoned Canuck drunk such as myself, has to hand it to my friends across Lake Erie.
That stuff is amazing!! TRUST ME!!

How old were you when you left?
by somebodylovesme ini only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.
all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.
i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.

Would you leave your kids with your abusive parents?
by Nosferatu ini've been contemplating this for a number of years now.
when i have kids, would i let my mother babysit them knowing how she treated me as a child?
has she changed?.

Nos, I am having some recollection of days gone by.
My parents, more often than not, would play the 'Home Alone' game.
I was the eldest of five boys, and even though I was young, I was more or less given the duty as babysitter. Of course, ill equipped and with zero training, I had to look after my ratpack of younger destructive baby brothers.
I think a good natured baby sitter, with some experience, could do better than an abusive (or previously known to be) parent.
They didn't do so great with us, why allow them to perpetuate the same. Ugh!
