Bloody Hell...it's green-black out there.
I can see what looks like elephant trunk clouds extending from the clouds, but it's SO DARK! I know it's a funnel cloud, but not sure if it'll touchdown, which we all do not want.
HAIL! Intense lightning.
Very freaky!

It's 3:45 p.m., and it's like night outside with weird coloured skies, frequent lightning and freaky windgusts!
Very unsettling!

Hey Morty.
Great to see you. I saw a couple of threads about you. Broke your wrist or something?
I hope you're on the mend. I have a feeling there's tons more I've missed out on.
Yes, it'd be nice to see you again.
Maybe a little jaunt over to Michigan would be nice; the Detroit folks are damn fine. I'm in need of Como's and good company. Care to join us?
Wishing you well. I've been back here more in 2-3 weeks than in the last 2 years.
Feeling a bit better about alot of things.
Best wishes,
Hugs,

A continuation of defd's discussion
by cruzanheart inokay, defd, i started a new topic so we won't continue to hijack panic attack's thread.
the reason why i didn't answer you back is twofold: (1) i'm at work and they kind of expect me to do other things besides post on jwd; (2) my husband chris (big tex) answered your question sufficiently for me so i didn't see a need to respond.. nina i am curious as to why you didnt finish our discussion and respond to my answer?
was raised as one of jehovah's witnesses, and i am very pleased to be able to offer my children the respect to make their own decisions about what to believe .

Defd, I'm not going to hound you.
But I will ask you to check out this link, from a supervised little girl who wrote about her grandfather (former JW) and his tragic death.
It brought tears to my eyes, in fact it made me bawl.
Take a peek at this thread. No post or follow-up is necessary, but there's enough information there to enable you to be impressed by parental finesse:

Take a look at it. Those of you who are newer to this forum, may need a tissue or two. Be ready, this one is heavy.
((((Chris & Nina)))) I had to bring that one back up. Hope you didn't mind.

Avishai, I know what you mean.
I find myself steadily going back to performers taken too soon from us, many years ago.
Real gems, superb singers/songwriters with a knack for moving us.
Once in awhile, I will tune-in to one of our local oldies AM station, and there'll be a feature on a singer/performer that died many, many years ago. Yesterday, it was all about Elvis.
But, other nights, it'll be about singers from the 'golden era'. Also folks from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Some I knew, some I did not. But hearing their songs, made me want to go back.....and rediscover them.
So many good ones have gone. But, the nice thing is: their music lives on.
You just proved it.

by shera indo you have a hard time spelling?.
this may be very silly to some of you but gesssssh!
i have to google many words to get the proper spelling.. i misplace vowels alot ,example: usually..is an odd one for me.lol even simple words like friends,i get the vowels mixed around.

Hi Shera.
Here's a book we should all have in our midsts: a dictionary
Because you are in Canada, like myself, I highly recommend this particular dictionary:
Gage Canadian Dictionary
I have a copy from 1992 that I bought in Regina, Saskatchewan. I have kept it with me, ever since.
I find it intriguing to flip through the dictionary, looking for odd seldom used words. I also like to look up words on my own, helping myself become more eloquent or perhaps better skilled at my mother tongue.
Practice makes perfect, but honestly, a dictionary on-hand, never hurts. It's good for practice and you'll find that you will seldom need to look up words, once you familiarize yourself with the word and its meanings.

I cannot believe it!!!!
by Eyebrow2 inyesterday my son and his dad were talking about his world geography class.
it turns out that he is actually in an honors class...i didn't realize that, and i was pretty happy, since he has never been in an honors class.. today, i get a phone call...i see on the caller id it is from the school district.
the first thing i think of is this :"uh-oh...which one of the kids forget their homework or lunch money...etc..etc.".

That's awesome. Children, given half a chance, can impress and overwhelm us adults with their thirst and absorbancy for knowledge, and/or zeal for a particular subject.Geography? Let me tell you, your son is going to be a traveller.
I was a geography wizard in school. I travelled plenty.
This is a pleasant post, one that makes one swell up with pride (the good kind).
I think Eyebrow2, that it reflects upon you and your spouse: good parenting.
A breath of fresh air this post. I had to comment.

WHERE IS EVERYONE?
by sonnyboy ini thought this was an international message board where someone was always awake?.
i have a serious case of insomnia and the posts don't seem to be moving very quickly.
maybe i'm drunk and have a case of the slow motions.. my sentences seem to be getting shorter.. why is this happeningt?.

RAYZORBLADE
Sonnyboy, you need some of our water...um...well..kinda filtered through some oak kegs across the river from Detroit.
Huh?
Yup...in one of our favourite cities down in the farthest reaches of southern Ontario, wedged between Lake Erie and Lake Huron (oh yeah, don't forget Lake St. Clair).
Get yourself some Canadian Club. There's many variations: 6 year; 10 year; 12 year and better still...15 year. Oh..no..wait, there's a 20 year old CC (Canadian Club rye whiskey).
Nevermind...this is sillyarsed on my behalf...and yes, I've been on these sites inibriated...more than a few dozen times.
Sometimes it sooths our mental aches; or so it would seem. But buddy, let me tell you...as I sit here...as I listen to some old music from my early days (early 1970s) I am having some flashbacks, but I'm OK. Don't need to get myself cooked on booze to make a point.
Well...you can try. But trust me, you'll slip up. But if you're having a few...that's OK. You're far better behaved than I ever was.
I'm listening to the Carpenters right now, remembering driving with my father through the Cobequid Hills of Nova Scotia, heading to another drunken vacation with drunken relatives and a pedophile...waiting just for me.
No fun.
Now, how in the hell did I hit this topic, and how did I get caught up in this thread?
Nevermind....it's OK...there's many folks here; many just reading...some just waking up... waiting for a coffee-tea to brew.
Glad to be where I am right now. Toronto, for me: is and has always been a safe haven for me.
Peace.
