  Friends you met through this board

  just wondering how many have either met or atleast talk with people from this board on the phone and such.

  how did you connect?

  was it just a post that really spoke to you or what?

  You kill me....(LOL).

  I haven't spoken to anyone yet, but I have a feeling I will. I think, after all these years, I am more receptive than I ever was.

  I have e-mailed a couple of people, some have written back. Giving out numbers etc., I know for some, is still considered a risky task.

  Hopefully over time, I may meet, or perhaps speak to some of these XJWs soon.

  All the best, and I'm glad that the 'fellowship' you have now, is way more fun!

  I'm hoping to connect up with some of my local Canucks. We'll see how that goes.

  Sperm Donors and Egg Donors

  tonight my daughter and i went window shopping at dockside imports then swung by super walmart to pick up a new pair of pajamas for her to wear.

  i pulled into the parking lot at walmart, and parked rather far back, as the entire area was packed with cars.

  we goofed off, and i held her as i went skipping along.

  MrMoe, I don't know you, but I have to take not only my hat off to you, but extole my heartfelt gratitude to you.

  That 'goon' you encountered, needed to be called on his stuff. I know how scary that is, but you had the fortitude to do it, and you had the utmost concern for that man's children. You spoke up, because something in you knew, that no one else, was speaking for them.

  Some people can have kids - like that guy, and treat them like crap. Disrespect is taught, and those children, acting out in their own innate ways, react to their father in some way. You understood this, I'm sure. But 'daddy dearest' saw fit to berate them, no less, in front of others, and then when called upon his ineptitudes, cussed you out and became threatening. An defensive act, which indicates so much more...if you know what I mean.

  MrMoe: you're wonderful and one helluva human being! Words escape me, but you make me proud to call you, a fellow human being.

  If You Never Were A JW, Would You Believe In God?

  so many here do not believe in god, now.

  some are not sure he exists.

  if you never had been a jehovah's witness, do you think that you might still believe in a creator, in god?

  Good question.

  I remember before I was JW, I did go to church etc., but was not impressed with it to say the least.

  Joining the JWs; I was intrigued by them, but I still had nagging questions. I think, I would probably be similar to the way I am now.

  I wish I was god/GOD. Not gender specific, just something that was decent, loving, fun, and made the world, and all living things in it: happy & peaceful.

  well i have officially graduated from the florida college of natural health and have applied for my license to become an esthetician!!!!

  jahweh's pilgrim =jw, jef = wbts, devine express = watchtower .

  we were all ready for the almighty right up until december the 31st 1975 and on january the 1st 1976 we all decided to read our divine express again to see if indeed we like millions of others have indeed not misread it.

  Oh how I wish a former JW I know was here on this forum.

  He and I were talking once about this "1975" topic.

  He had been a Jehovah's Witness for several decades. He was a pioneer at one time and even played in the assembly orchestras. Anyways, I recall something about him being at a particular assembly hearing one of the Bethel speakers from Brooklyn utter words, more or less, pointing to the fall of 1975 or October 1975.

  I wish he was on here, because he could relate the story better than myself. But it was interesting, and then to read posts previous to mine, about how brothers/sisters misinterpreted the Society's teachings. Did anyone (elders/WTBTS) try to stop brothers and sisters from selling their homes and personal possessions prior the December 31, 1975?

  I don't know, but if someone could enlighten me on that question, I'd appreciate it.

  I started going to meetings in late 1976. So, the 1975 issue was something I was unfamiliar with until I became more regular in my study and meeting attendance. No one really wanted to discuss it, even when I asked questions. It was 'hush-hush'.

  Erin Brockovich was in Toronto last June for the touring "Vagina Monologues" show.

  I did not see the movie, or am I familiar with her work. But her name seemed to be 'everywhere'.

  A friend of mine did speak at the "Vagina Monologues" here in Toronto, but unfortunately, due to work, I missed the entire event.

  the common leader and his followers work mainly off of the desire to end isolation but the fanatical leader and his disciples incorporate the second primal fear, the fear of death, into the equation.

  and by death i mean annihilation the utter obliteration of any and every bit of a persons earthly existence and legacy.

  the leader who promises his people that adherence to his laws and teachings will not only relieve the pain of their isolation but also allow them to defy death, to achieve some kind of spiritual immortality through worthy deeds, that type of leader achieves a supreme control that the first type cant match and creates an entirely different kind of follower in the process.
