  At what age did you join the Witnesses?

  at what age would a person have to be to join the witnesses and not suffer too much?.

  if they are children, it robs their youth.. if they join in the teens, they won't get a decent education.. if they join at 20 years old, they will have to marry a witness.. if they join at 30, i guess that would be less destructive because they already are married, have children, have a house, an education and a job.. at what age did you join, and how did it affect you?

  HELP! My JW parents are trying to steal my daughter

  i just phoned my daughter who is 23 years old, and she is graduating from college in toronto this june.

  i thought because there were some great flight offers that i would be spontaneous and be there for her graduation and just do a mother daughter thing of celebrating.

  well i just phoned her, to tell her that i would like to be there, and she hits me with the bombshell that my parents will be there and staying with her.

  DJ thanks so much for your thoughts. I appreciate them.

  But my daughter isn't under the jw mindset, never was, although we tried in her earlier years, but then we eventually left. Its just that she has such a relationship with my parents that she does feel torn between them and us. She desparately tries to get us together when she comes to visit, but I just can't do it because I have too much history with my mom and her deceiving, conniving ways. I find it easier not to have my parents in my life at this time. I have two younger children that I have to protect too.

  You had the mother in law from hell, and I have a mother from hell. Oops did I say that.

  I'm glad that you were able to get photos of your son, it is a great moment in their life.

  had a good phone convo with bob tonite.

  well i guess it depends on your definition of good but anyways.

  he spewed for an hour straight about why we can't talk anymore and that unless i become a witness, we can no longer have any contact.

  The Weather!!????

  yippee the sun has come at last.... the uk has not had any rain now for at least 4 weeks(a good soaking) oh dear we will soon be on drought warning!!.

  but it is hot hot hot especially for april... lets hope it continues right the way through the summer..... watch i bet it rains at the weekend - typical seeing that it is a holiday weekend.... but enjoy while it lasts..... sun tan annie.

  Here in northwestern Ontario we're back in the winter zone. Just in time for our Easter long weekend. We're going to turn into Eskimos soon, in the Great White North.

  When it dawns on her that her grandparents would drop her like a hot potato for something as simple as trying a cigarette, but that you will never shun her, she will have learned a valuable lesson about life and love.

  Swan, that's the trouble with my parents, is that they'll do anything to win her over, accepting that she smokes, accepting that she would live with a guy out of wedlock, etc. etc. They would never shun her no matter what she does or would do.

  Back from the Memorial

  well like i say, just got back from the memorial, have been going most years, but this year i went by chance (knew it was roughly at 7pm at the nearest kh) to my old congregation that i grew up in.

  i didn't find the "evil" people spoke of here on this forum, or those too stupid to see.

  all i did see was people i hadn't seen in years, and let me tell you, what lovely people they were.

  calls me on the phone, he knows me from sitting in on my studies.

  others notice his behavior but nothing has been done.

  the other day i saw him in my movie theatre staring at me smiling.
