Spritual Emptyness

now that you don't practise any kind of religion anymore, do you feel a certain emptyness as far as your spirituality is concerned?.

have we become like animals, without any spirituality?.

Hi JH,

I can relate to your feelings about this subject. I dedicated my childhood & adolescence to religion and what I believe then was divine.

When I left the WTBTS I felt spiritually highjacked. I couldn't permit myself to believe, worship, or even pray. Prayer is something that I held to be the most precious and I denied myself. I virtually lived in a black hole.

Then one day I realized that I missed my sense of spirit. I decided to embark on a quest to find it again. That was a great gift.

During my journey I've learned many things about myself, religion, truth, and spirit. I am still the student enternally discovering new things.

One of the hardest things to do was grant myself permission to explore. Give yourself the license to probe. Through awareness and realization we can find the answers to the questions and solutions to the problems. Enlightenment is sacred.

Growing up a JW I was taught not to pay any mind to such things since they were considered to be somehow a part of the occult and demonic realm.

I no longer believe that. I have taught myself to listen to my inner voice and to trust it.

The sense of intuition in my opinion is very much a blessing. I believe we all have it and should listen to it and not fear it.

Some days when my inner voice tells me "don't drive instead walk" I listen.

Thank you all in participating and yes I to speak to animals in the same tone & manner I would another person.

i got a chuckle out of it and thought i'd share it.

we are women.

take all american women who are within five years of menopause - train us for a few weeks, outfit us with automatic weapons, grenades, gas masks, moisturizer with spf15, prozac, hormones, chocolate, and canned tuna - drop us (parachuted, preferably) across the landscape of afghanistan, and let us do what comes naturally.

2- Are you surprised to find yourself an object of conversation?

3- Have you ever said, "It just feels right" when reaching a positive conclusion?

4- Are you able to successfully visualize a room you knew as a child?

5- When speaking to an animal, do you use the same tone of voice and manner that you would in addressing another person?

6- Do you welcome adventure and enjoy solving a puzzle?

7- Have you ever sensed someone's thought while their words denied them?

8- Are you cheerful and optimistic by nature?

9- Does the atmosphere of a place influence your judgement of it?

Count your affirmative answers.

7 to 9 mean your intuition is keen and should be developed.

4 to 6 indicate your sixth sense is alive but needs trust and encouragement.

Peace from yourself

for some reason i feel like i should make this post now.

often times we tend to think of peace in terms of external conditions, but when you stop and think about it, it's really your own experience, what's inside you, isn't it?

this is why you can say something, use the exact same words, but convey a very different emotional tone regardless of what those words are.

Intro,

You hit the nail right on the head with this one especially on Valentines Day. It's a wonderful frame of belief to strive for peace and love within ourselves first and then to pay it forward and pass it on.
