I was given a catholic bible as a gift a few years ago. In this bible were additional books called the apocrypha. I've never read these books but they are on my future to do /read list. These are the names of the books:
Tobit, Judith, Esther(Greek), Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch, Letters of Jeremiah, Song of the Three Young Men, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, 1Maccabees, 2Maccabees, 1Esdras, 2Esdras, The Prayer of Manasseh.

sure, most probably know that there are serious deficiencies with the society, but why did ray franz in particular go the extra mile of leaving the organization altogether and writing against it?

I wanted to elaborate a little more on my previous comments. Mind you these are just my observations on reading this book.
I feel that FF was a bigger player in the game after all he was the second man in line. Knorr was a dying man and everyone knew this. The society was not ruled by a theocracy but instead suits in a dictatorial setting.
Fred had everything to do with RF appointment in BHQ {RF clearly states in his book how his uncle wanted adulation from him for rescuing him from this little island nothing life.} Which RF was particularly happy with.
After arriving at BQH RF excelled at his job as a scholar and writer. He is a brilliant man with a gifted mind he stood out from the rest by excellence and talent. At the same time RF realized that his uncle was a fraud. And that the society was based on lies and double standards. FF said " he was the oracle of the society".
I believe that the paranoia that came from the GB in reality came from FF's own paranoia simply because he was jealous of his nephew and saw him as a threat who by mere talent and living accordingly could have easily passed him over in the rank and file as well as divide the towers.
FF wasn't going to have it, so he put his plan in motion put out his dogs and henchmen and the rest is history.
this weekend i was feeling creative and since any effort to shake this nagging feeling utterly failed, i decided to do some wt covers.
the result is now before you...they are somewhat simplistic because i did them in paint(tm), i still crave paintshop but haven't been able to get hold of it as of yet..... so here they are:.

This is my theory and spin, after reading CoC I was left with this impression. Uncle Fred giveth and uncle Fred taketh away.
Ray Franz draws a clear picture almost a map in my mind as to where the truth can be found and documented about all WTBTS procedures and policies regarding organizational matters.

today after school i went by my daughters and grandbaby's mel (my daughter) does home day care, she has a new lil one to watch a little boy 8 weeks.
well, while i was there he started to fuss so i was asked to hold and comfort him, i went to the rocker and sat and patted his lil bum.
i see my granddaughter crawling towards me with a frown and stormny eyes, she stands up and looks at me then the baby, she does this funny little smile then she reaches behind her and starts patting her bum and looking at me and then the baby.lol she wanted me to put the baby down and pat her .

Good luck WH stick with it. It took me a long while to quit. I had to wean myself off slowly couldn't do it cold turkey. Thrilled to have given it up my teeth are pretty and white again nice breath too. Kicked the habbit 6 years ago.
