  Thanks jgnat for posting that. Just wanted to add that Billy Graham has reached more people with his message by going on TV than the JWs do preaching from door to door.

  I know it'll never happen, but can you imagine the FDS in an hour-long TV program telling folks about the marvels of the new world society. Wouldn't it be fun if they let viewers call in and ask questions?

  No! Don't ban the JWs. Someone has to serve as a bad religious example and it may as well be them. Besides....what would we all have to talk about????

  i am new to this forum and i am curious as to why certain foods was outlined under the mosaic law but do not apply now.

  pork being the biggest example of all.

  Hi Seeking and welcome! The rationale I heard was that the Israelites wandering in the wilderness would not be able to cook pork to the extent necessary to kill the trichanosis parasite. I don't know if that was the rabbinical reason or not but its what I was told many years ago.

  Life After JW'S ?

  as some of you know a close friend of mine is a witness and i am trying to remove some of the fears and guilt that have such a hold on her.

  i was wondering if some of you could share some details of your lives in and out of the org.

  I remember some of the awful looks I'd get when I asked a question of someone at the KH. Those things were simply not done! It was a sign of spiritual weakness!

  Now I'm free to read what I like and research any question any where I like. If some of my questions had been truthfully answered at the KH, I might still be one of them. Now I know that the many stories alluded to in the hall were very likely true.

  HYPNOTISM AT THE KH!

  can hypnotism be accomplished on an unsuspecting person without the flashy methods used by those we've seen on tv?

  has anyone here been hypnotised?

  i've tried self-hypnosis, but i can't seem to find a good quiet time except for late evening, then i'm too tired and fall asleep.

  Better than hypnotism....sit near the front of the hall where the speaker can see you clearly. Stare at him and frown especially when he cites a scripture. Keep that up for most of the meeting and you can rattle the heck out of them.

  Change expression from frowning to aghast. Shake head slowly. Look incredulous. The trick is to leave the meeting immediately afterward so that he won't have a chance to ask you why you were giving him those looks.

  By the end of the talk you can reduce the speaker to a quivering shell of a dub.

  Just saw a 'Ghost' or something....

  ok the weirdest thing just happened to my coworker and i. we went to go pickup our breakfast from accross the street.

  when we got back to our building we walked over to the elevators and as we turned the corner we saw someone get into the elevator before it closed.

  we didnt see the person exactly but we saw their leg or whatever passthrough before the door closed.

  The explanation is really very simple. There are many dimensions on the earth that interact with each other.....especially in the presence of elevators and Mexican food !!
