As far as I know the the combination of the two names "Jehovah" and "God" was invented by Taze Russell in the 19th century. As far as I can tell Jehovah God was never used prior to that time. Is this correct?

any explainations seemed fuzzy at best so i decided to take a run at it from behind and find the definintion of an un-believer.here is what i came up with and i welcome other opinions.
many of the people around jesus were jews, they walked with him, talked with him, listened to his teachings and witnessed his miracles.

Ahhh yes...DISTRICT CONVENTION TIME IS HERE.....
by jimbob inyes, summer is almost here, and this will be my very first summer that i will not be attending a district convention.
since the wife and i left the borg last august, i have looked forward to a summer, free from conventions.
at last that time has arrived.

My daughter, who is a JW is coming to our area for some sort of convention (I think) and going on to Hawaii for a convention there. This will happen in the fall.
I know they are not payed enough by the org. She lives in Patterson and works there.
Can someone tell me who would pay her way. What is this business of conventions. Are they every year? Do they have a big convention every so many years? What is the purpose of these conventions?

Funny how my views on the general thinking of the Democrats (Liberal) and Republicans (Conservative) are the opposite to Minimus. I am neither one or the other. I suppose I could call myself an Independent. Of all the people I know the republicans think more rationally, using the facts available to arrive at a conclusion or course of action. The Democrats that I know and listen to on TV and radio,seem to think through the heart with little consideration to all the facts as they are. Any one in a discussion of importance that prefaces the sentence with the words "I believe" are not thinking the subject through. I would certainly not take any action in the real world based on what I believe (mental conviction).

What the hell does the Republican party have to do with Jehovah's witness. You seem to be predisposed with politics. There is no fundamental difference between a far right Republican and a far left Democrat. Both being far out as fundamentalists, they serve no useful purpose in a society.
