The idea that says America was given to the people of America is ludicrous. America is a new country and we will have our day in history. Give it time. All members of the human race will eventually go through some sort of misery given time. God gave us what we have to do with what we will. Unfortunately, at this stage in the history of we humans, there are too many undesirables around that make life miserable. God does not control our day to day life. Don't be fooled by the religions proliferating the earth at this time. Life will improve with time. We will not see the results of our efforts to make this a peaceful place to life. To all those who are not satisfied with the status quo, make the best of what you have available. Good things are available on earth. If you are licated in an area that is unsatisfactory to you, get out and get into an area that is more suited to your thinking and above do what you can to improve the space in which you live. Be happy, things are not as bad as they seem.

HELP!! Trying to find right religion brough up as JW
by emmamess22 ini was raised as an on again off again (when convenient for flighty mom) jw.
i have recently decided due to the birth of a daughter that it was time to get it together and decide what to do with myself spiritually as she was going to church with her baptisit dad and i felt awful.
so, i've been using the reasoning book and reading the bible and trying to decide what's right.. spent hours looking at christmas online....saw it was traced to pagan celebrations and decided not to do it.

I am impressed with the responses to this fundamental question. When one analyzes the responses you can see the diversity of people who are willing to help the people who are still searching for an answer to a fundamental question.
Although I personally do not rely on Religion for spiritual survival, I can certainly understand that some people have a definite need for such spiritual guidance for every day life. The diversity is certainly out there. From religious cults such as Islam and Jehovah's Witnesses to Atheism, it's all out there. Good luck.

U.S. Witnesses can make the difference in the 2004 Election
by joe_from_kokomo indear friends:.
most witnesses do not vote, and have not done so for many years, although strictly speaking current watchtower policy does not forbid voting in a political election, but rather leaves it as a matter of conscience.
so, it is up to each witness to decide for themselves if it is ok to vote or not.

Mulan: Don't you know there is a difference between a man and a woman?
A man can be raped only by another man. I had sex with an older woman when I was 14. We both went away witha smile on our faces. It was my first and it was fun.

What Do Un-Believers Not Believe?
by mensa163 inone of the things that used to annoy me in the new testament was the "believe in jesus" message.
any explainations seemed fuzzy at best so i decided to take a run at it from behind and find the definintion of an un-believer.here is what i came up with and i welcome other opinions.
many of the people around jesus were jews, they walked with him, talked with him, listened to his teachings and witnessed his miracles.

Faith is defined as belief without proof. Correct?? The Bible is a book that was first spoken then passed on through the generations through word of mouth until we homo sapiens were able to write, at which time the people that were alive wrote what had been passed down to them by their forefathers (myths and what nots). Then came a guy named Jesus who thought he had a better way for people to live and "BELIEVE IN". This was also done by others later on in history, Martin Luther, Mohammad, Joseph Smith etc.. Apparently, even the existance of Jesus is in debate as there is no proof of his existance, except for the Bible and the New Testament. Wouldn't you think that a person of such stature and significence in the entire world, would be calaloged a lot better than what we read in the Bible?
THe only thing I have to justify the existance of God is "Who made all this universe we live in"? I do not know. So I am willing to accept the existance of God in that context and go on with living. I will use the accept the Bible as a book with its Myths and errors and extract the wisdom as I see it and go on with my life using this wisdom as best I can. I can live a happy life without religion as it exists today with no problems.
To the "BELIEVERS", who say that there is some sort of psycological reason for my thinking. I say, God gave me a brain to use and I will do so to the best of my ability, surely he would not send me to hell for following a course using the brain he gave me. Don't step on my toes and I will not step on yours.

If the witnesses in Florida had voted Bush would not have got in and there would not have been the war in Iraq" ? That has got to be the brilliant statement of the day. Gore would have been the president and he would have seen or had access to the same information that Bush had (which you obviously have not had access to) and you say he would have come to a different conclusion. You are obviously living in the land of "20-20" hindsight.

What is the current teaching on resurrection of a Jehovah's Witness.
by Triple A inwhat is the current teaching on resurrection of a jehovah's witness.
if they are active when they die will they be resurrected?do they have to meet so many hours, so many books placed?.
the reason for this question is that my jw friend just had a very close jw friend of theirs die.

However, JWs do not believe that EVERYONE will be resurrected. The above only applies to those deemed worthy of resurrection by Jesus. Death does not absolve a person from a heinous or evil course of life, it only renders those resurrected or those given a second-chance at life as it were, to get a "fresh start" without the sins of their former lives being weighed
This assumes that belief in Jesus Christ is a requirement to be eligible for the benefits at the exclusion of all non Christians (4.5 billion strong in existance today). I am sure Usama Bin Laden believes in God and is satisfied that what he is doing is acceptable to God.
