Is there a list of the names of subsidiaries, partially or wholly owned owned by the WTS. I have been looking at the list of beneficiaries of the "Faith Based " outfits that willl benefit from the recent program started by the Bush administration. I am wondering if the WTS is benefiting from this program thru another name. Possible?

What Was THE Straw That Broke Your "Camel'...
by Francois inthere are lots of outrageous things that have happened to each of us in our longer or shorter association with the jay-dubs.
but it's amazing sometimes what teeny things have been the final straw.. being raised as a jw, i swallowed most stuff whole my entire life.
then, as a teen began to question some things, but waited patiently for jehovah to straightened things out.

Mine was all the stupid counsel about staying single and childless in this system of things. I wanted to have a family and knew in my heart it was a very normal desire and that I should not have to feel guilty about it.95stormfront

Is there any info published by the WTS that spells out the counselling you mention above. I never realized that when my daughter said that she did not want any children at the early stages of her indoctrination. Is any fo this type info available on the web thru the WTS web site.

Holy cow, there certainly does not seem to be too many straws among the members or ex members of JWs that are contributors to this site. I would have thought that this thread would have been inundated with stories of disfellowships from all walks. I have never been a JW, nor was anyone in my family, however, after trying to teach my children that they should be honest and do unto others............lo and behold one of my daughters decided that what I was trying to teach her was not right and joined the WTS. That to me was not a straw, it was an atom bomb. It amazes me that the non-JWs of this country would reject Islam practices and accept the Jehovah Witness way of life. A lot of the every day beliefs are similar to Islam. One main one is shunning.

Razor:
You don't know too much about other religions. Catholics do "disfellowship" but it is only done at the higher levels, that is the persons that are priests and higher up. There are hardly any priests that have been disfellowshipped. Bishops, yes, but very few. THere may have been five in the last hundred years. Your comparison is a typical JW response, totally incomplete. That is what the prosthalizers are told to regurgitate to their members. I hope you know better.
Jehovah's witnesses are the biggest liars I know and they pretend to solicit the truth. Anyone that has heard of and knows the "Theocratic Warfare Doctrine" as practiced by the WTS knows.

Internet access
by Phil ini am interested obtaining as much as i can regarding the wts and the method they use to stop members from using the internet.. my daughter is presently living, and appears committed for life to stay there at the paterson compound.
i have recently noticed her reluctance to use the internet as a communicating tool.
is there any documents that they have published that discourages, convinces or otherwise forces the members to refrain from using the internet.

Yess Garybuss, you are absolutely correct. This presents a dilema for non-JW of JW children. The WTS claims to be for the continuation of a healthy relationships within a biological family, but everything they do tends to break a family apart.

I was mainly concerned about making a connection with my daughter so we could share conversations. I thought it was a good way to start a dialogue with her. I suppose this is not to be. I have a zillion questions to ask her and discuss matters that have separated us for too long.
When asked to send a copy of a recipe to my wife via email, we gave her Our email address and she sent it by snail mail. This is what prompted my request for information. There appears to be some paranoia associated with this decision. When we were communicating she once told me of the negativity in the world today. I would like to send her a copy of what is presently showing on this thread. You talk about paranoia.
Thanks people for the information.

I know they have a web page that I am sure is used by the members. Would they actually lock out somehow all computers used at the compoind, so as to prevent access to sites other than those promoted by the WTS. Perhaps this is just a brainwashing thing.

Where has Razor gone? He seems to have forgotten his words regarding verbally demolishing all those who do not believe in the WTS and his conversion. Well, he is the one that has gone and hasn't answered most of the points brought up on this thread. As usual, with all JWs, he recites only the portions of the Bible that suits him and leaves out the contradictions.

Medical Care
by Phil inall the jws that work at the paterson facility, i believe, receive some pay that is so small that they are put below the poverty level as established by the government.
when one of these members is in need of hospitalization for a serious illness, is the medical care they receive paid for under the government funded "medicaid" program?
what kind of medical care programs does the state of ny have for these cases?should a person in this position be expected to pay back the expenses incurred by the wt.

"self insured" ?
This does not appear to be consistant with the WTS behavior. Please forgive by skekpticism but do you have documentation or reliable information on the subject? Perhaps you are a JW and would exercise your "rights" to the Theocratic Warfare doctrine.
I have had so much experience with this group that I found it difficult to believe anything they say.
