Thanks Bittersweet, Hoooray to your sister for getting freed at such a young age, and I'm so glad that your Mom finally came around. It is hard for family to comes to terms with it, even families that aren't in the BORG! Usually if there are no great outside negative influences(like the BORG) the family's love for one another kicks in and they learn to accept each other. How your sister doing now with her ailments and such, Is she okay? Thanks to for your kind words. I am so glad to find exJW's that haven't been permanately blinded by the BORG. It's funny sometimes when I meet people on line, we write back and forth and then inevidiably I mention my partner, or just come out and mention I'm a lesbian and the correspondence stops! Oh well, their loss cuz I'm really a nice person. I feel bad for our kids that shun us cuz they rob themselves of our showers of love, good cooking, gifts, help in lots of ways. We still send packages filled with toys, clothes, fancy greetings cards, you name it to the grandkids and they are readily accepted by the wife(all 6 our kids are boys) but she won't even talk to us on the phone if and when my partner calls there she immediatley puts our son on the phone without speaking to her anything further than hello. I know this may get confusing cuz I call her sons my sons and she does the same. We have been best friends for more than 20 years and I view her kids as mine, she helped me deliver my last son who is 17 now. When we met my youngest was 3 my second son was not born yet. Hers were 7,4,3,and 2! I was there for all their milestones, and she was there for my kid's. Today her oldest son is bringing over our granddaughter (she's 1yr.) so we can babysit while they go to the movies for a couple of hours, that is so much fun! They drop her off we shower her with love and kisses and constant attention, she loves being with us too and then they come back and take her home...how cool is that??!! Well it looks like I'm rambling here just wanted to say thanks for your reply. Hope to see you on the chat sometime, do you go there? FP

Hi Sheila, Thanks for the sweet words, glad to see that you were not blinded by the Borg. I've never been to Methuen. I have been to Haverhill though, since Iv'e been "out" that is,( that actually has a two fold meaning for me doesn't it!) There's a bar there that my partner and I like t go away to sometimes, called Friend's Landing. Then we usually go to Rockport. We are actually going there next weekend for a little hiatus since my surgery, before I have to go back to work. Did I see you on the chat a little earlier today about 4pm(est)? FP

Hey Bittersweet, Thanks for the backup, that comment did hit below the belt. I don't remember the name of the drama but it was held here in Springfield at the Civic Center. My partner had been married since she was 15 years old and although her husband was a good man, provider and father, she was not in love with him, they got married because she was pregnant, an honorable thing to do but should one be bound for life to a commitment that they made when they were a child? I started going out with my husband when I was 15 and he was 30. He never accepted the "truth" when I did and I alienated him from my life from then on. I realized that everytime I prayed for the New System I was praying for my husband's demise. We were not happy, I started studying after we were married for 5 years and it got bad from then on. I was the most judgemental person there was, I watched my husband's every move and judged him for his "worldly" lifestyle. We were both miserable. We are very good friends now, we are both happy in our separate lives. While my partner and I were in the BORG we were the best of friends, we were NOT leading double lives, we both knew that were in love with each other but we fought for 15 years what we thought were "wrong" feelings. We prayed, we pioneered, we took on extra meeting parts, we did everything we could to immerse ourselves in the "truth" so we did'nt have to look at the facts about ourselves. The self loathing became unbearable. There came a time when I became severly depressed, recognizing that I could never really be happy in that religion, that there was no tolerence for the fact that I am a lesbian. I prayed for years for Jehovah to help me, to "fix" me, I finally had to accept who I was or kill myself. I thought those were my only options. My story is long and tortuous, so I'll spare you all, but my, our, decision to leave was not made without a great deal of trepidation, we recognized that people would be hurt, we are distressed by their pain every day, we are punished still by 2 of our 6 kids. They don't want to have much contact with us. My son recently got married and I was not invited to the reception even though other dfed people were there. We have grandchildren that we are seldom allowed to see. We have paid a high price but to be true to yourself is paramount to ones mental health. I am happier now than I have ever been in my life, my partner and I have a pure, honest, loving relationship. I do not regret my decision. I only hope that the intolerant, narrow minded, life controlling religious entity know as Jehovah's Witnesses eventually falls and releases our kids and grandkids from it's hateful grip

Hey folks, I am not afraid to devulge my name, I'm dfed so that gives the go ahead to say anyhting I want. Anyone "in" who reads this would have alot to answer to about even being on this site!! My name is Jan Pierce, my partner and I, Joanne Barr were associated with first the "East congregation" and then The "Plumtree"(when they split and changed names) in Springfield. We were both pioneers for 9 of the 20 years that we associated. We both have had parts on the District and Circuit assemblies from time to time. My partner and her then Ministerial Servant husband were in a drama once. Hey Neonmadman, What is your name? You can e-mail me at "[email protected]" I don't know that there was a congregation in West Sprinfield but there was one in Westfield. I went to pioneer school in Holyoke and met alot of folks from there. The Levinio's, Michael Piles, there was a family from there where the parents and all the kids were prominant, still are, but I can't for the life of me remember their names!! I also know some exJW's from the West Yarmouth area that I visit once or twice a year! Boston too! I've been to an exJW meetup group there! Anyone else??? This is fun!!! FlowerPower
