I wanted to believe in God. I wanted to be with my husband. I wanted to have a united family. I loved my friends. Those are the main reasons why I joined and stayed so long. I always felt uneasy about the whole fiasco, but what I wanted was more important than the truth/reality. I learned that nothing is more important than the truth/reality. You cannot ignore it and expect to live an innocent and secure life. Eventually, the lies catch up to you, no matter what you do.

Reality is plain to see: if you just open your eyes
by kneehighmiah ini made a post a few days ago about stagnant jw growth at international conventions.
i also enjoyed reading analysis of the statistics from jwfacts.
what the watchtower claims and what the reality is, are two different things.

by baltar447 inlisten guys, one month i had some bible thumpers knocking at me door telling me about hell.
then i have some weird fundamental religious sponsored "education books for parents to help their children in school".
the next i have some south korean mother god cult come to my door with qr codes on their literature too.

I passed by on my way home from work today-- i just pulled over quietly, smiled, and said "secta" or "cult" in Spanish. Sorry, I just had to do it.

Thanks to everyone who expressed kind words for teachers. American educators are under lots of strain-- it's nice to know ppl still care about our work! Can't wait for my own classroom!

Kate-- I still have a ways to go, but step one is complete. I feel confident that the rest will be accomplished too. It feels good to get important things done :-)
I'm going to ask the University if they'll let me walk next spring. I want my girls to be a part of my graduation and see that sacrifice pays :-) Crossing my fingers!

Hi All,
I just wanted to share the good news that Wednesday was the last day of my summer teaching internship. I had a great time with the kids-- they were ready to learn, be challenged and have fun. And this was summer school! I was definitely blessed/ fortunate. I am so happy to say that I have successfully completed all of the requirements for my Master's! On Thursday, I had my evaluation with my cooperating teacher and university counselor and they passed me with flying colors! I am one step closer to accomplishing my goal of becoming a full-time classroom teacher. All that's left is to apply for my license/certificate to teach!
Here's to success outside of the Borg for my girls and I! Cheers!

Jews are an ethnic group. As to whether they are a race, scientists don't like to use that term anymore because of all the 19th and 20th century baggage assigned to that word. Here'ss an interesting article about the topic of "genetic" Jews--
http://m.forward.com/articles/155742/jews-are-a-race-genes-reveal/?p=all
As far as Islam and Muslims-- Idon't want to make a comment just yet. But I do agree with Huntington's thesis on the Clash of Civilizations.
