I used to love my red/burgundy bible with the gold. I have no clue where it is. I still have the large ones, the ones with the footnotes. I have one black one left. And I'm happy to say I have an NIV. I'm happy bc I'm done with reading WT anything.

HELP I have until next Wednesday
by KariOtt ini have an oppertuinity to try ttatt on an elders wife who is a pioneer who showed up today.
she is willing to meet me one on one to discuss how pedofiles are protected, the blood issue, the flip flpos, how they teach theocratical warfare and hate.
i agreed to only use watchtower and awake publications.

I guess what I want to ask is: why share TTATT with anyone? I can see working carefully contrived small doses of it into conversations with your husband. That's a monumental task in itself. I don't thinkit's wise to go beyond your own household.

Yes, I remember that post KarriOtt. I was wondering who inititated the text conversation. I was just trying to figure out if it was a set up as some others suggested. I was thinking that itpprobably wouldn't be a good idea to share your doubts or TTATT with a jw because of what seems to be the fragile situation between you and your husband. You wouldn't want to jeopardize that relationship just for the opportunity to reverse witness to a practical stranger. Being labeled an apostate is serious business and is not worth the cost.

Who initiated the text conversation? Was she trying to establish a study with you , and then she agreed to talk about those topics?

.
the question was "what is the most accurate bible, even more accurate then the one that fred franz and his friends wrote?".

OTWO-- ABSOLUTELY! On a hurried schedule, it's never opened. I did love my bible, though, and made an effort to look up the texts . Like it made a difference. You have to read the entire chapter to get to the real meanng of the Scripture cited since it was misapplied unbeknownst to you. :-P

Designated elder to shadow talks at the meeting
by wannaexit ini heard that there is an elder in each congregation that follows very closely what is being said from stage to make sure everything is being said correctly.
in all my years as a jw , i don't ever remember this at the local level.
is this something new?

A small observation from the AGM...
by sir82 in...but it struck me as significant anyway.. i attended at a jw assembly hall, and was sitting behind a pretty typical jw family.
2 kids about ages 8 & 5, frazzled hen-pecked husband, and....the mom.
the lady of the house.

breakup guilt
by fresh prince of ohio ini recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years.. she is 40 years old, with health problems, financial problems, little family/friend support, and facing an uncertain future.
i gave her some money.. the guilt i am experiencing right now is absolutely anguishing.
she had very, very high hopes about our relationship and loved me very deeply.

I'm gonna jump the gun and say-- get back with her, and go to counseling too since you feel so strongly.

Accepting my own mortality, and the naturalness of death - the final step in my JW recovery.
by fresh prince of ohio infor people who have a paralyzing fear of dying, to where it seems like it's this horrible, stalking monster, jwism is a powerful sedative.. but really, the idea of living forever, in human form, is nonsense.
living forever isn't about living forever, it's about not dying.. death is natural.
it can be painful, sudden, or both.

I do feel that death is not natural, not normal. I understand you.
