  I'm glad you are on the site; you are yet one more rational intelligent voice to try and be heard over the irrational emotional theist rants. And a very good voice at that. Your OP statement says, in a different manner, what we have repeatedly stated in response to the ever present theist mantra that atheists are immoral whores because we don't have a god to guide our actions.

  No matter the amount of empirical data we provide that clearly shows a very strong correlation between atheism and functionality and theism and dysfunctionality, the mantra continues. Only the weak minded, those who cannot self-regulate and the malfeasant require a make believe god in order to behave. Thinking that good behavior requires belief in any god is transferrence. As I have stated before, until we understand that humans can do the right thing regardless of any god-like creature, for no other reason than it is the right thing, we will never achieve the potential locked in our DNA. Religion, and god(s), will always keep us down.

  i'm skeptical of single accusations but the number of people and the similar stories seem overwhelming now.. it's not a conviction but to the court of public opinion ... guilty?.

  Seriously? Is that why you bumped this? Since this OP went dormant 5 days ago, a lot more of the sordid details have come out about the Cos. The tally is 19 and counting, and he has a history of paying to cover up his trail according to numerous sources. As one of the tv judges stated, with 19 accusers the statistical likelihood of the Cos NOT being a rapist is zero.

  Dr. Huxtable is a serial rapist and monster. That is my professional opinion.

  all the stupidity about tight trousers is laughable and if the general public were to see these selfmportant cult leaders blabbing this stuff then the last shred of their credibility would be destroyed.........perhaps.. the wbt$ seem to have dug themselves into a deep pit of no escape with their lies, new light(tm), paedophile protection and all the other nauseating peripherals they have.. we also suspect that the wbt$ have their spies here because they are either predictable or get ideas form forums like this.. so!

  I usually agree with you, and you are spot on with your analysis. Delusional narcissists waiting to sit at god's right hand - and rule over all of the earth and the universe - aren't likely to change, however. They could address number 3 from your list (admit that we are not at the end of times) and the rest would likely take care of itself. But the end of times teaching drives all of the other nonsense.

  New Hope, check my posting history. I've angered a lot of people on this site because of a lack of rushing to judgment, and I'm not judging the Cos now. This is an OP, and I am expressing my professional opinion. Nothing more. Based on the civil suit and the volume of those who have or could come forward with the same MO, and their seeming credibility, I believe Cos is a monster. An opinion. Please try to separate the two.

  New Hope, I agree completely. The news accounts related to this and the facts which can be gleaned from it are the only things I am relying on. But 13?? None of them knew each other as far as I know, none of them knew about the other as far as I know, and all of the ones I have seen before the camera have on the surface credibility. And all of the ones who have spoken publicy either recently or in the past recount more or less the exact same MO. Could all of that be smoke and no fire? Of course. Do I think that it is all smoke and no fire? IMHO Dr. Huxtable is a monster. But it is only an opinion. Everyone deserves their time in court and the facts to be evaluated and determined.

  New Hope, I've already stated I'm withholding judgment and that he deserves his years in court. The civil suit settlement speaks volumes. As much as anyone on this site I avoid rushing to judgment. But based on my years of experience, my professional 'opinion,' which I have qualified it to be, as that Dr. Huxtable is a monster. He is a free man. No one is violating his civil rights. No one also wants to be associated with him, and he will likely go to his grave in silence and humiliation. That, IMHO, is what he deserves. I only wish the civil suit had gone to trial; we would amost certainly be having a much different conversation.

  I loved Bill Cosby too, but in the immortal words of the great 20th Century philosopher, Tina Turner, what's love got do to with it? I loved Brother Michael too, until the dumbass kept on playing with little children rather than stopping after he spent 20 million dollars to keep one quiet. Chickens coming home to roost.

  If Dr. Huxtable had fought the civil suit, all of the Jane Does would likely have testified. And the world would have known. Cos wanted none of that. I believe he his a monster but will withhold judgment.
