Perry is a narcissist who thrives on attention. He chose the title of his OP, I'm certain, to annoy atheists and get the response he craves. I try to avoid Perry; most of the time he is harmless and similar to an annoying gnat that won't go away and get out of your face no matter how many times you swat at it.

The premise of the OP is bullshit, as usual. No matter how many times we atheists explain to Perry or some of the other thesits that our atheism was a very long, methodical, non-emotional rational journey they post such nonsense. It seems Perry spends his spare time looking for the most reasonably sounding confirmationally biased tripe he can find. He has to know it will be nuked and fail to sway anyone, but he persists nonetheless. He gets high marks for tenacity.

Perry and some of the hard core theists simply cannot wrap their brains around the fact that atheists do not need god to behave and do not struggle in our non-beliefs. I struggled to be a theist. Being an atheist has freed me from any struggle. Perry, there is a lot of data that suggests the more rational one's personality the more llikely they are to be atheist. That's 180 degrees opposite from your premise it would seem.

if you are/were an active jw, you are now here on jwn so, for whatever your reasons, you woke up to some degree- hopefully a great degree.

so what i am saying may not apply to you.. i know that if i had not already left, i would have stormed out on the day they studied "overlapping generation.

" i am quite confident i couldn't have stayed for such an obvious switcharoo just to make the end seem imminent and try to explain how wts was wrong, but not entirely wrong in the past.. but i had to wonder how that change (or others) didn't cause most jw's to walk out.

Nice OP. I especially like your A - G process. We see that so many times when Dubs, in response to the way-effed up Borganization's directions (lack of) and changing doctrines, say things like "where else are we to go?" We see the same thing on this site frequently. They are locked in the successive chain of thinking, and they will never be free until they discard the entire process and start over.

she brings it up constantly about how they would do this or that but he has to work that saturday.

i think she should get a job and then he could find a lower paying 9 to 5 job..

Yeah, I know Tal's history. I've never locked horns with her, but she is so wrong on this one it will be like clubbing baby seals. The wealth of data which completely refutes her rant is overwhelming. In the grown-up world in which I live, she has those 4 options. Actually 3, since she will never be able to support her rants. Admit, apologize, remain silent. Anything else is a shrill whiney rant.

What I stated is true; you may not like it, but it is true. Is it as commonplace as it once was? I doubt it, but others are weighing in saying the same thing I'm saying. My personal experience is the same as others. Men sometimes ride on women's earnings; society is NOT kind to such men. Women can do it with impunity. Agree or not doesn't change the facts. It's the same thing in the dating world; women rarely if ever pick up the tab or even offer. A little bit of research rather than saying cutting and untrue things to me would change your mind. If you wish, I will do the research for you and present it here. That will give you an opportuntiy to apologize, admit you were wrong, remain silent or provide equally compelling data (which you can't do). Those are your only grown up options.

This idiot had a long history of violent, terroristic type behavior. He had been and still was within the Aussie judicial system as a usual suspect for various serious crimes. And yet he wasn't on their terror watch list? And they waited 17 hours or so and took no proactive steps. He gets to kill two hostages before they have enough fukkking sense or guts to go in and get him or shoot him through the glass?

I rarely crirticize response measures until all of the details are in, but the Aussies are looking like the keystone cops in this one. Why give these guys intel, high tech weapons and training if they don't/can't/won't use them? Perhaps at the end of the day we will find out the delay was political in nature; that has happened in the US on many occassions as well.

They HAD to know this idiot would kill; he already had or was suspected of doing so as well as being fuelled by Islamic fervor. Some decision makers need to be replaced.

Ditto unless they were'nt certain that he was acting alone, which, if not, would have potentially led to the deaths of all of the hostages even if they shot him right between the eyes. If they did know he was alone, the only other thing would be whether the snipers were given the "Go" to shoot when they had a clear shot. A sniper with a clear shot without the authorization to pull the trigger, IMHO, is the likely scenario. This happens a lot, as the decision makers weigh the options and potential consequences, opportunities are sometimes missed. Stuff happens. Success has many fathers; failure is an orphan. We shall see what the officials state.

i took a hiatus from jwn because the wall started to collapse because i lost several people ive known almost my entire life.

these were people i thought would never die, the lies told by the watchtower is unforgivable!

there was a party i attended keeping a low profile while documenting what was said.

Cults eat their own; the problem you describe with brother against brother is minimally due to the individual publishers. The Dark Lords create this phenomenon as a control weapon. Cults eat their own; the Borg is one of the best at it. That was one of the bricks in my wall, noticing what you describe in every KH. The lack of love and tolerance has been programmed in to the drones by the Dark Lords from the repetitive hate filled, exlusionary messages and reinforced by marking, shunning and labeling.

yesterday the co went 3 times to our house for an encouragement visit.. gorby's wife noticed him and the elder just on time to keep the door closed.. after 7 years of fading we are on the radar again.. g.. .

The title of your OP gives you the answer. They are not your friends. There is nothing good that can come from your opening the door or speaking to them. If they are coming to your house because of official Dark Lord policy, then they are drones. I doubt this is the reason because they are making repeat visits. If it were policy only, a couple of them would show up once, air knock and be on their way, content that they were being good little mindless drones and happily reporting back to the Dark Lords that mission is accomplished.

If the visit is based on a truly caring CO or elder they would likely come once, perhaps twice, and then leave you a kind message of some sort that they care about you and miss you. There are truly caring men in responsible positions in the Borg; they typically don't fare so well as they make their way up the food chain, however.

The repeated visits are what concerns me; that speaks to trouble in Mordor. And while I'm waing Tolkien, treat them like the Nazgul they are, power mad Ring Wraiths whose sole mission is to report back to the Dark Lords in the Dark Tower. You, Frodo, SamWise, Merry Pippen and the rest of your Hobbits hide in your shire until the Wraiths have left.

They know or have heard something, or they are trying to sniff something out. Avoid them like the plague that they are. Good luck.
