Yes, but if you apply the irrefutable, scientifically proven principle of time, times and half a time to atomant's 'math', it works out perfectly.

Sun,moon, earth and mathematics .
by atomant injust thought id let you all in on some info i found on northeasttruth.com.
that magical moment where the moon blocks out the sun!
but only just enough to perfectly cover the suns disc, whilst still allowing us to see the corona of light and other electromagnetic forces radiating from it.. this only happens because the moon diameter is exactly 1/400th the size of the suns and is positioned at exactly 1/400th of the distance between earth and the sun!so, when we see it from the surface of earth, we are in the only place this can ever be seen, at the only time it could ever happen.

Why are the atheists on this site so hateful?
by HopeEverLasting inall us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

There you go. @ Qcmbr:
"I had no right to expect politeness when my posts came from a position of extreme judgment (non-believers are lost / punishable / wicked / unhappy and they have no hope in this life or the next unless they accept our Saviour.) It was I who was being presumptuous and was posting from a position of threat (God was on my side and they would be lost if they didn't listen) and hubris (no matter what they said or how cleverly stated, in the big picture they were either supporting God or Satan and I knew who I served). I could be wrong."
Theists and Believers on this site, other than the occasional BKs, are almost always warmed over replicas of the Dark Lords and the bile we all left. In other words, they are typically end of time nut jobs who want to gloss over all of the really horrible qualities of their beloved (jesus), feigning humility while, once pressed, condemning all of the rest of us heathen atheists to eternal damnation unless we embrace Daddy's Lil Monster.
That deserves no respect. None. Keep it and your dearly beloved serial killer/mass murderer to yourselves. Or expect push back. Hard.Simple, really.

Can an atheist date jw?
by concernCitizen inhey everyone!.
first of all, i'm not a jw, in fact i'm an atheist, or if you really want to be technical about it i'm probably something like an agnostic atheist or something.. but, my girlfriend is a jw, she seems very rational about it though, it seems to me that she believes in a lot of it but not exactly all, for instance she does understands and believes in the scientific age of the earth and evolution.. when we started dating almost a year ago she made it clear she as religious person.
i never saw that as a problem, it's not like i'm trying to convert her or she's trying to convert me.

CC,
Find another GF. The risks aren't worth it, and there are so many areas of your future that can be negatively impacted by having any association with this cult.
You already have enough data to move on. Act on it.

CC,
There are numerous studies, including some conducted by religious based agencies, that suggest atheist parents raise more ethical and compassionate children. Research it.
Why are you stuck on thinking you need Jesus, Muhammed or some other make believe entity to raise great kids?
Nothing is further from the truth. As for the dubs, they would be one of the worst choices you could make for guidance in raising healthy children. Nearly 70% of dub children leave the cult when they become adults, and the ones who stay, as Faye states, are often screwed up in profound ways.
If not for shunning that % would be much higher.

I've had enough..
by raven inso last night, after thinking "wow those pesky elders have finally left me alone, maybe since i skipped out on their jc invitation back on august 1st they've given up" wrong.. i go to check the mail and there's an envelope at my front door- lo and behold, another letter from from these elders.. why won't they leave me alone already?
i'll attach a picture of the letter.. again, same letter as the first one inviting me to a judicial committee on august 15th - and signed by all three elders.. should i just continue to ignore?
quite frankly i don't give a rats arse i've been enjoying life free from the mind control of the organization, and i just wish they would drop it and let me live life.. like i mentioned before, i am moving to a new home next week, the only reason these elders have my current address ( which happens to be over 100 miles away from the cong ) is because my mother gave it to them, after i gave it to her in confidence to forward me my mail.. so lets just say she won't be getting my new address... i don't have any contact with ones from this congregation (i'm an ex pioneer, so i'm sure if they've gotten word on what i'm doing, i must be satan himself!

Good luck Raven. You seem like you are in a good place mentally and emotionally with your exit from this vile cult.
Full speed ahead young lady. Don't bow. Don't curtsy. Don't look back. Ever.

Raven,
What some of us told you would happen, on your first post about this, is happening in the exact manner we described.
The same advice is applicable now as then. If you don't care now or forever that they DF you then do nothing.
If you do care get a lawyer and have the lawyer send them a threatening cease and desist letter. It may or may not matter, likely not since it has proceeded to this point.
Same advice we gave you months ago.
If you meet with them you will have to lie, lie and grovel or hope they are both blind and forgiving in order to keep from being DFed.
And then you will have to immediately change back to being a good little chaste dub girl. Or rinse and repeat.

My Refurbished Web Page
by NeonMadman ini know that many here are no longer believers, but i also know that there are still some participating in this forum who consider themselves christians.
i recently refurbished my web site extensively, and thought some of you might enjoy browsing it.
some of my articles are aimed at exposing unbiblical teachings of the watchtower, and my video presentations on "darkness in the watchtower" and "the watchtower's mad science and bad medicine" have been particularly well received.

Suffering with "Bridge-over-River-Kwai-syndrome" while fading
by OneGenTwoGroups ini've never liked being late for meetings, 10 minutes early has always been 5 minutes late for me.
i'm a very punctual atheist at the meetings still.. when someone asks a simple question from the platform and not one dummy raises their hand, i still feel the need to raise my hand so that we don't all look like idiots.. my shoes still need to be clean and polished, my suits and ties match and are in good shape.
i never wear them anywhere else.. i still feel like saying hello to people that are obviously being ignored by everyone else.. people not singing out still bugs me, lol.

What Rebel8 said. Times 1000.
TwoGroups, major kudos on using the BOTRK reference. Excellent. Major points deducted for the rest of it. Unless you are attending meetings because someone has a gun held to your head, I'm not feeling it.
Cold turkey or fade. Those are your options (I'm assuming telling everyone, during your next talk, that they are in a death dealing cult run by evil DarkLords isn't an option).
While you are there I would suggest: sleeping, playing with your smart phone - routinely getting up to go take/make 'important' phone calls, checking out the hot sisters (or brothers, or both, whatever your flavor(s)), or shooting yourself in the head with a nail gun full of rusty nails.
Otherwise, why spend any energy worrying about these dysfunctional misfits and what they do or don't do? It's akin to going to the all you can eat buffet and lamenting that you are surrounded by obese losers and trying to get them to choose a low cal option (yeah, right). The solution? Don't go.
You aren't in denial; there is hope for you. Good luck.

Great Teacher,
Yes. You may. Can you think of one with a lot of ex strippers and Lindsay Lohan types?
