Elders Advice Backfired And Now Im The Happiest I've Ever Been
by pale.emperor injust wanted to update you guys of the amazing couple of weeks i've had in recovering from the cult.. i was attending the meetings still just so i could see my daughter in the kingdom hall and have her sit we me half the time.
i had no intention of ever becoming a jw again but was hoping to be re-instated and just not turn up ever again so i could at least see my family.
but then an elder said something to me that changed all that.

Second in the Medal Table - Well Done TeamGB
by konceptual99 incan't believe it - gb is currently second in the medal table, with more golds and silvers combined than even china.
given the size of the nation it's an incredible achievement and we have won in some sports where other countries typically dominate.
i can't imagine we will stay in second but i am happy to enjoy the moment.. well done to the whole of team gb!.

Great job Brits!! A predicted bump after hosting the Games 4 years ago, but well done!!! AND, 35 of China's medals were in badminton and ping pong. And yard darts, which makes it all the more impressive! -

Signs That Armageddon is "Any Day Now"
by Nevuela inmy "anointed" roommate told me a good one today.
as we were discussing psychotropic medications, she brought up a friend of hers who was recently forced off of "benzodiazepine" (there is no one drug by this name; rather, it is a specific classification of drug).
she claimed that many people are being forced off of the medication(s) due to "concerns over side effects," and that her friend is suffering from withdrawal on top of whatever symptoms the drug was previously helping to control (she didn't elaborate and i didn't feel comfortable asking, sorry).. my roommate then went on record to say (i'm paraphrasing here) "this is why armageddon has to happen very soon, because satan is using this system to make all these people suffer psychologically to drive them into the streets and go crazy.

Nevuela,
You do know that your friend is a nut job, don't you? Even by dub standards, which are so low that you would need a shovel to find them.
Dubs can take most any event or issue and use it is 'proof' the Big A is imminent. Wars and genocides? The bible predicted them just before the Big A. Critical times hard to deal with? Yep, same. Peace and security? Yep, those too.
Find another roommate. You know what they say: "Insanity Rules."

New study - JWs by far the least educated religious group in Canada, Australia and New Zealand
by slimboyfat inthe religion of the educated classes revisited: new religions, the nonreligious, and educational levels - james r. lewis .
the measure lewis uses to compare religious groups is what percentage of members of the respective religions have graduated from college.
the findings are similar to the results of the pew survey in the united states.

Yes, pc, a correlation isn't a cause/effect. Having said that, dubs with a degree are more likely to leave the DarkTower sooner or later. In addition, college grads make more $ and have about half the rate of unemployment, which will help the individual dubs and their families but sadly provide more $$ available for the DarkLords.

Why are the atheists on this site so hateful?
by HopeEverLasting inall us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

Dear god, Orphan Crow,
You are starting to sound like me. Victim behavior? Blame shifting? Emotion vs. Rationality?
I think I'm in love.
My work here may be nearing completion.

There is obviously a strong correlation between education and family income. The higher the level of education the higher the level of family income. So the dubs also likely have the lowest family incomes in these countries, as they do in the US. As expected. So the Dark Lords may effectively keep the poor and stupid trapped, but they will continue to lose the smartest and most capable. And let's hope the Dark Lords can't continue to get blood out of these turnips.
The higher one's education attainment level, the less religious they tend to be.
There is also a correlation between intelligence and religiosity - of any kind. The higher one's IQ the less likely he or she is religious, and vice versa. There is a strong correlation between fundamentalist religionists and lower intelligence, in US studies. It is likely the same situations exist in these countries.
And before some of you theists whine, we have posted empirical, scientific data in support of the above statements many, many times. You too can Google scholar it.
There is also a strong correlation between stupid people and obesity. But I digress.

Sun,moon, earth and mathematics .
by atomant injust thought id let you all in on some info i found on northeasttruth.com.
that magical moment where the moon blocks out the sun!
but only just enough to perfectly cover the suns disc, whilst still allowing us to see the corona of light and other electromagnetic forces radiating from it.. this only happens because the moon diameter is exactly 1/400th the size of the suns and is positioned at exactly 1/400th of the distance between earth and the sun!so, when we see it from the surface of earth, we are in the only place this can ever be seen, at the only time it could ever happen.

Yes, but if you apply the irrefutable, scientifically proven principle of time, times and half a time to atomant's 'math', it works out perfectly.

There you go. @ Qcmbr:
"I had no right to expect politeness when my posts came from a position of extreme judgment (non-believers are lost / punishable / wicked / unhappy and they have no hope in this life or the next unless they accept our Saviour.) It was I who was being presumptuous and was posting from a position of threat (God was on my side and they would be lost if they didn't listen) and hubris (no matter what they said or how cleverly stated, in the big picture they were either supporting God or Satan and I knew who I served). I could be wrong."
Theists and Believers on this site, other than the occasional BKs, are almost always warmed over replicas of the Dark Lords and the bile we all left. In other words, they are typically end of time nut jobs who want to gloss over all of the really horrible qualities of their beloved (jesus), feigning humility while, once pressed, condemning all of the rest of us heathen atheists to eternal damnation unless we embrace Daddy's Lil Monster.
That deserves no respect. None. Keep it and your dearly beloved serial killer/mass murderer to yourselves. Or expect push back. Hard.Simple, really.

Can an atheist date jw?
by concernCitizen inhey everyone!.
first of all, i'm not a jw, in fact i'm an atheist, or if you really want to be technical about it i'm probably something like an agnostic atheist or something.. but, my girlfriend is a jw, she seems very rational about it though, it seems to me that she believes in a lot of it but not exactly all, for instance she does understands and believes in the scientific age of the earth and evolution.. when we started dating almost a year ago she made it clear she as religious person.
i never saw that as a problem, it's not like i'm trying to convert her or she's trying to convert me.

CC,
Find another GF. The risks aren't worth it, and there are so many areas of your future that can be negatively impacted by having any association with this cult.
You already have enough data to move on. Act on it.

CC,
There are numerous studies, including some conducted by religious based agencies, that suggest atheist parents raise more ethical and compassionate children. Research it.
Why are you stuck on thinking you need Jesus, Muhammed or some other make believe entity to raise great kids?
Nothing is further from the truth. As for the dubs, they would be one of the worst choices you could make for guidance in raising healthy children. Nearly 70% of dub children leave the cult when they become adults, and the ones who stay, as Faye states, are often screwed up in profound ways.
If not for shunning that % would be much higher.
