Is it teaching that you hate or teaching kids that you hate or teaching kids but without the support you feel you need to do a good job that you hate or a combination of all? I've been an adjunct prof at 2 local colleges in the past, but I could not teach high school, grade school, etc. because I do not want to deal with the issues you describe. I don't teach now because my job requires a lot of travel, but love it and miss it.
true believers, whether christian, muslim or whatever, want to convert you, they want you to believe what they do, and they're willing to go to extremes to make it happen.

Ive only been on this site for about 11 months or so. I realized within a few months that it wasn't really for me, as 90% of the OPs are theist and very JW specific, both of which nauseate me. Ive been out of the Borg 20 years and spent it living life; to be dragged back into Borgland is something I have no desire to do. Having said that, the only rational, factual discussions I typically read on this board are driven by the atheists amongst us.
The theist posts can be touchly lovely group huggy, since it's essentially everyone's opinion (which is why the preachers with 'special knowledge' on this site disgust me). When the topic changes to science, technical issues or simply about non-theist topics, the 'bar' for posting becomes much, much higher. Anyone bringing their 'feelings' or 'beliefs' or what they 'think' or the one dimensional 'knowledge' (all of which are absolutely freaking wonderful in theist conversations) to serious discussions will be nuked by those of us trained to expect facts and the support of those facts to a debate.
That essentially is the root cause analysis of the 'strife' on this site. People who pine for a purple dinosaur group hug for every OP - or who expect their irrational, reactionary, intellectually shallow or non-existent opinions to be respected on non-theist posts - are delusional. They continually get upset by the 'tone' when, if one very closely analyzes the root cause, is not so much the tone as they will never, ever, ever (credit to Taylor Swift) win any of these arguments. That, IMHO and based on a rational 11 month observation of the 'problem', is the real root cause.

Met has an obession with the imminent military and economic demise of the U.S./British/Israel triad, as seen by previous posts. I've ignored this one until now. At least he is trying to find 'better' sources for his shallow rants. The only thing I would say to Met is to google a 360 degree perspective of the topic. Start by researching "the potential problems associated with the Chinese economy." There are very good sources (The Economist, etc.) which, while not discounting what 1.4 billion people can do when martialed in one direction, suggest major roadblocks ahead. Having studied and taught economics at the college level, I've posted some of this before on Met's threads (I don't think he listens).
His compulsion to head to the keyboard upon finding yet another one sided, shallow, non-intellectual 'source' for economic or military projections is the real problem. The dual power is a Dub construct; it means nothing in the real world (although the Brits, U.S. and Israelis share a lot of military technological advances, keeping them WAY ahead of everyone else).

I won't try to have rational, intelligent conversations with irrational, reactive, lazy minded individuals; and 2. i really can't wrap my head around how people can still consider god loving with such atrocious biblical accounts such as, 1 samuel 15, (god ordering the slaughter of amelikite baby's and children) 2nd kings 2, forgot the verses (god sending bears to maul 42 children) and many others.have you ever asked a witness or anyone elsewhat they think about these accounts?

Abe, I've read your post several times and don't have a clue what it is you are trying to say. I will say clearly what I mean. Proseletyzing and preaching on this site disgust me.
