  Once again you are correct. Or any conspiracy theorist, really. But my objectives are noble. I would prefer that the furry little varmints become empiricists. Short of that happening, getting them to STFU is a close second. Either way is ok with me, as long as we stop their infection from spreading. This site is fu:*ing full of conspiracy theorists. That shouldn't surprise me, as researchers have pointed out a strong correlation between fundie theism and theorism.. They left one cult for another one.

  Sadly, Devo was right. We are de-evolving. Nothing says herd mentality quite like the conspiracy theorist mentality. They are a pox on humanity. A disease. An infection. De-evolution in real time. They have proliferated because of the world wide web. I pine for the good old days, when conspiracy theorists only left their trailer parks to go to church, comic book stores and all you can eat buffets, where we could effectively contain the infection. (sorry Bonsai, but come on, a man's got to do what a man's got to do).

  There is a lot of very bad science regarding GMOs. I have read a lot of it, and it has ALL been trashed and exposed by real scientists. The Universities of CA, GA and FLA have been conducting extensive research into GMOs for several years. The U of GA has a website that identifies all of the bad science to which you refer.   We have about 2 dozen hard core conspiracy theorists on this site, and an equal number of those carrying the infection and another equal number of hysterical housewives. I'm expecting about 40 or 50 dislikes. As Cofty states, the "Dislike" button is below. Use it.

  Your hysteria and your Dislike change nothing. GMOs have never been found to be unsafe, by any real science. But continue being hysterical; it is what I expected.

  Excellent comment. I agree. That's why there is an intensive governmental approval process before GMOs can come to market and one of the reasons why there are numerous independent studies that have been and are being conducted by prestigious universities.

  Some countries ban GMOs as a political reactionary move or one taken to protect existing agricultural industries - these bans are not based on whether GMOs produced by Monsanto or other US companies are dangerous. They are not.

  Many countries are moving forward with GMOs; whether they all have the appropriate policies and tests in place is something neither you nor I know, and it would certainly be prudent to ensure they do. GMOs from Monsanto have been proven safe and as nutritious as regular foods, based on real science. Your rant that Monsanto, those bastards, are trying to kill us was a hysterical, dangerous and erroneous opinion.

  this was under the article about distractions.

  i clicked on the article and below is the "accurate" prediction that the wt made back in 1958. this has to prove they have jehovah's backing, don't you think?

  We have had the 'luxury' of even having distractions for a very short period of time. For most of the 100,000 years humans have existed in our current form, daily life revolved around finding enough food to make it through the night, the week, the winter, keeping warm and fending off those human and non-human life forms that would take it from you by killing you.

  Focusing on the distractions brought about by prosperity, leisure time, sufficient calories and much longer lives is such a bull shit argument. Which one of the GB, which one of us, would trade today - or even 1958 - for most of the previous 100,000 years of our existence.

  the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.

  my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

  As many of us have pointed out on several occasions, the Dark Tower seemed to be having a cash flow problem. The selling and transferring of capital assets appeared healthy to very healthy from what we could see. Corporations and churches typically do not use cash flow/income for capital projects; they are funded by capital transfers, loans, etc.

  If the Dark Lords have truly stopped the construction projects and laid off more workers, it strongly suggests that they are having both capital and cash flow problems to the point that day-to-day operations are impacted. Of course we do not know the extent of these, if it is a temporary blip, etc., but the two issues combined appear ominous from a financial standpoint.

  As some have already pointed out, starting these projects without the upfront capital makes no sense. If they didn't have it and hoped to get it, they are financial fools. If they had it but now don't, it means something has changed. This could be the pending lawsuits, environmental cleanup costs, lowered credit rating (and thus higher financing costs), bad investments, overages on building costs, etc., or a combination.

  The one thing that would bring the Dark Tower to its knees quickly, as previously pointed out, is for the rank and file to stop donating. Their re-engineered business design appears to be completely predicated on donations - they stop, the engine stops.

  Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick

  heard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.

  apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.

  so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

  I'm a simple caveman and the article about the Warwick site being contaminated has confused me. Is the site the toxic waste dump or the WT leadership the toxic waste dump?

  Seriously, cleaning up a badly contaminated site could cost billions, not millions. Suing for reparations could take years. This issue won't likely be resolved for a long time.
