when the brothers protested and said that it would take 6 years for the project to be complete and if they moved that fast there would be many mistakes, the gb responded, "we don't care, that is your deadline".

It sounds like your ready for the move. I don't know if you have a job, living at home, or married. But what ever plan you have plan your exit carefully. It's hard to live with the lie once you know the truth about the WTBTS. For me personally I couldn't live with it for to long. I disassociated myself by sending a letter and when they asked if we wanted to meet with the elders we said no, and that was the end of that. And I haven't looked back. So what ever your decision you make I hope you can live with it. Good Luck.

wtbts holds out an extreme double standard in regards to education.
most, if not all, of you know how they feel about obtaining an education past high school (in the u.s.).

Great post. There are so many of us out there that have gone through this. Not getting more educated. This was suppose to help us to take care of our families and to have better paying jobs. And how many are suffering now because of this. We could of become anything we wanted to, but instead we were good little robots for the WTBTS. ( I WILL OBEY.) It's a sad story being played out by so many of us. And I hope more JWS and ExJWS further their education so they'll be to be able to take care of themselves and their families.

i have been lurking here for a couple of years.
my hubby (inactive & some doubts) and i were just married and i'll be going to his place to meet his family (pretty much dubs).
they seem to be friendly and excited to meet me, and i kind of had agreed to attend the kingdumb hall meeting once (in my life time, yep, that's the agreement) and also meeting an elder who brain-washed my hubby during his teen.

Happy your here and I hope your husband will come on board too. It sounds like your husband is being pulled towards the JWS. Have you sat down with him and truthfully has he told you what he wants JWS or not. You see he has to be honest with himself first. Does he want to live the LIE or not. Then that will make it easier for you to confront them or not. Is your husband afraid that he will lose his parents .Well at least he has you and all of us if he comes on the forum. I enjoyed that video very much. I think we can accomplish a lot just by our conduct. You can't force anybody to do anything they don't want to do. Just like you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. When their ready then they'll listen to us by doing some investigating on their own. Or maybe someday you just might get a phone call from one of them with tons of questions for you. Who knows what will happen, all I know is we can do is our best everyday to show them and others whose right and whose wrong. People will see on the outside to by looking in, and boy do they look in.

earlier today i went round to the cathedral square of the city where i work for some lunch and i had the misfortune to sit near to an ol'boy witnessing to some people who were too polite to respond.

Sorry for not being able to show your last respects to your family members. It was their loss too. Good for you talking to the witness and trying to straighten him out. At least you gave a witness to the people that were sitting with him and whoever else may of heard. So good for you. 1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.
