hayden covington, the jehovah\'s witness and their plan to expand first amendment freedoms

Ah freedom. The Bill of Rights is a wonderful thing unless you try to practice its provisions within the congregation of J-dubdom.
I was told by my PO that if I spoke to one more person about the child abuse issue or the UN fiasco they would have to take judicial action against me. I said, "So much for Freedom of Speech." He got a blank look on his face and mumbled something about protecting the congregation.
what do they think? That we are so confused and dim witted that we will not notice that they have replaced it with the Bill of No Rights?
Yeh.

the watchtower society, struggling over increased costs, gets into a fight with the us postal rate commission ... read all about it at:.
trial brief: http://www.prc.gov/docs/26/26246/watchtower-brief.pdf .
watchtower letter: http://www.prc.gov/docs/24/24686/watchtower-interv.pdf .
WHAT!!!!! Does this mean that Jehovah was not behind the loss of our subscriptions? Could it be - No I can't believe this - increased postage was the real reason. But we were led to believe that it was Jehovah tightening up before the big A. Money is of no value to Mother, she would not use the loss of a few dollars to cut off the supply of vital spiritual information to millions.
WaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaa!!!! What a crock of pucky the WT is.

This article was a total cut-and-paste job. Using the WT-CD I found where all these things have been discussed and discussed, sometimes using the exact same paragraphs.
Having a good memory can be annoying at times can't it? I had noticed this cut and paste writing style in the publications for years. I excused it in my mind by saying that new ones hadn't read that yet. Ignoring the blatant fact that the fellows in the writing department were just plain lazy. The worst offense was the recent Worship book.
I am so glad I'm out.

what makes the watch tower organization the authority of the scriptures?
the bible does not say any thing about a watch tower.
I also am a christian, I came on to expose the watch tower for the hoax that it is
That is soooooooooooooooooo thoughtful darlin. Are you really 15 years old? Such conviction at such a tender age. Those guys are just messing with your head. We all know from personal experience that the WT is a hoax of the worst kind. That is why we are here. Welcome to the board. Stick around you just may be a valuable family member here. Loris

It's a change the rules to suit as you go kind of game. Just like "we have no clergy - everyone is equal" - to "that conversation is protected under clergy confidentiality"
That reminded me of the San Francisco Chronicle article recently that reported on the lawsuits filed in California
Paul Polidoro, the associate general counsel for the Jehovah's Witnesses, said the staff at the church headquarters in New York had not yet seen the lawsuit and had no comment on the specific allegations.
"The majority of these lawsuits are parishioner-on-parishioner incidents," Polidoro said.

eisenhower family background .
both parents were active in the watchtower during most of the eisenhower children's formative years.

I like to go to the local library when they have a used book sale. People donate books and the sale benefits the library. I found "The True Believer" at one of those sales. I had never heard of it before but the title caught my eye.
The one that I have was published by Time Magazine. In the Editors' Preface it starts out by saying, "Dwight Eisenhower is not a man who goes about insistently recommending books on political philosophy. When, during his Presidency, he pressed Eric Hoffer's book, The True Believer, on his associates, some expected to find it a handy expression of Eisenhower's own beliefs. The book is certainly not that, and many other readers before and after Eisenhower have delighted in The True Believer while disagreeing with much of it."
To me I found that tidbit facinating. I am sure that the editor missed the point of Eisenhower's interest in the subject matter. Was it the threat of Communism or was it the JW experience from his childhood? Did he see the similarity of the JW experience with what Eric Hoffer wrote about?
Thank you Jocker10 for posting the article. It was a facinating read.

i've been out of it for 9 years now and i still feel guilty.
my mum majored in emotional blackmail which is why i pioneered when i left school instead of going to college like i was desperate to do.
i couldn't bear to upset my mum.
Call me Joshua, the son of none.I cut mine off - she doesn't know where on the planet I am, nor shall she ever
I must be Joshua's sister. I sent my mother a Birthday Day card on my birthday with a note that said thanks for not believing in abortion. I let her know that although she is my mother I do not feel that I should be forced to be friends with someone who obviously doesn't like me. I haven't heard from her since. Silence is golden. Loris
greetings - can anyone confirm for me whether these articles were officially submitted by the watchtower society to the un (to keep up their ngo membership), or did the un just use these articles and post them on their website without the society necessarily having officially submitted them?
i guess the wts had to have given their consent somehow, as a minimum.
what are the mechanics of proving one is upholding un ideals to renew their library card membership?
Several difficulties come to mind
As excellent as Zev’s website is; the truth of the matter is most brain dead Dubs will not accept photo copies off of an evil apostate website. (sorry Zev) Something has to trigger a small part of their brain first before they are willing to venture into such scary places. Something must touch them personally before they will let themselves see the truth about "the truth"
Time is an enemy of issues such as this. The UN continuously updates their website. That means less and less proof about the involvement of the WT with the UN is available on the UN’s non-apostate website. The trail is getting cold. Soon there will not be any hard evidence for a curious J-dub to see. Few J-dubs would ever go to the extreme measures that Zev went to in order to research such a rumor (and that is what this issue is becoming).
Case in point. It is becoming more difficult to prove the Holocaust. The ‘proof’ of eyewitnesses is dwindling as each year more victims die. That is why Steven Spielberg filmed hundreds of interviews of survivors. To preserve the proof.
I agree that a copy of the application for NGO affiliation dated in 1991-1992 would be extremely valuable but it may be impossible to obtain. Why would the UN keep such a thing? Do you have that old employment application you filled out in 1992? How could they know that in 10 years it would be a hot item with thousands of disaffected J-dubs trying to get a copy? I am amazed that Zev was able to find a brochure from 1994.
You do not need to be a UN insider to use the library. No matter what the WT says. Anyone in the world can gain access to archived material. Contact the UN and find out how you can go about it. They will send information to a regional university library for you to look at and copy. How much information you collect depends on your own determination and motivation.
