Welcome to the board, any chance you could tell us a bit more about yourself?
Round here, people seem to prefer conversation to preaching. Just a tip. ;)

i'm starting to believe the bethel higher ups are trolling us.
the outright contradictions and stuff like overlapping generation is too ridiculous.
calling out the harold camping when we did the same thing.
Confession time: Just after Harold's failure, I made critical reference to him in a talk with no sense of irony whatsoever.
and they named him obed.
jesse was the father of david the king.
matthew 1:6, 7 - " and jesse the father of king david.
Why is that King David and the Messiah Jesus descend from an "accursed" Moabite, Ruth, who should have never been allowed into God's assembly - not her, nor any of her mixed progeny with an Israelite?
God seems to change his mind a lot. Like in the book of Jonah.
What do you think the implications are Eden? Personally I like the implied universalism.
2. p. 363; emphasis added) .
(ibid., p. 362; emphasis added) .. to say jesus is mediator only for the 144,000 is actually to deny the possibility of forgiveness of sins for any others.
; emphasis added) .
"Similarly, Jehovah is using only one organization today to accomplish his will. To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it."
And I thought salvation was the work of Jesus. :(
It's odd that JWs came up with this interpretation of mediatorship and then basically stopped talking about, when was the last time they even mentioned it? Decades ago right?
the guy i know was saying this the other day.. "it's been suggested this may be the last one", or words to that effect.. where & by whom?.
is this doing the rounds?.
I'm pretty sure they'll still be holding those memorials long after I'm dead.
having an interesting time at the moment with my faith journey.
my hubs was confirmed a catholic and his views are no women priests because there weren't any in the bible.
hence, the absence in rc churches.. my mother is a jw.
Opposition to women priests is possibly the main thing that stopped me going eastern orthodox. Well, that and the silly hats.
Anyway... I can't imagine ever joining another religious community that thinks people like Jgnat have nothing/little to offer. Such a waste.
had a sermon on the above today.
can i have some background and meaning to this, please?
?i'm convinced i never learnt anything at the kh!!.
Wiki's often helpful: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfiguration_of_Jesus
I like this take on it too (by a woman priest, no less!): http://www.patheos.com/blogs/nadiabolzweber/2012/03/sermon-on-the-transfiguration-and-how-seminary-is-like-hogwarts/
dear all,.
could someone explain where it is written that mservants should be doing the congregation average/10 hours minimum?.
platinumfix.
My Dad used to put in my report for me, boy was I surprised when I found out I had a 13 hour average...
no silly meetings.
no wasting time knocking on doors, bothering people.....life is good..
Oh how I don't miss that feeling of dread about field service I suffered every Friday night!
top ten signs you're a fundamentalist christian.
10 - you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.. .
9 - you feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.. .
They're a fundamentalist something alright, maybe not christian?
