i offer no apology.
you do, however, deserve an explanation.. my father, bless him and now dead, was a survivor of belsen, the german concentration camp.

'Lord have mercy' That the Nazi army was made up mostly of baptised Christians is evidence of the failure of Christendom as civil religion. -

Are atheists more likely to be morally good than Christians?
by FusionTheism ini have no problem saying atheists and christians are equal.. but some people seem to have the belief that atheists are more likely to be morally good, or more likely to change the world for good, than christians and theists.. but what evidence do you have to support this claim?.
if atheism is what causes people to do great positive things for the world, then why weren't martin luther king, jr., william wilberforce, isaac newton, francis collins, barack obama, mother theresa, abraham lincoln, or john f. kennedy atheists?.

I don't know but introspection is always helpful. Whenever we think we derive our morality from the "group" we belong to, I think we are in danger of 'missing' our own evil. It is a dangerous path.

McKinney Texas pool party?
by Marvin Shilmer inso today i was asked my thoughts on the pool party incident in mcminney, texas.
my response: it shows a clash of expectations.

Of course nobody on this forum actually thinks it would be ok for a police officer to grab them or a family member by the hair, pull them on to the floor, slam their face on the ground and sit on them in similar circumstances, if it happened to them or a family member they would be raging. The bad faith arguments and obfuscation is being used to cover up the fact that they just want black people treated differently.
The same white supremacists who believe black people need a brutal police regime to keep them in check will soon appear on another thread to lecture black people about how they just can't get ahead because they're too lazy.

Is there any evidence that the girl in question committed a crime?

Luhe, I think the former officer should be charged with assault, I think this because there seems to be good evidence that he committed assault and I don't believe police officers should be above the law, or that there should be exceptions for when the victim is black.
Re: authority, it's too broad a question to answer simply, as someone who wears eye glasses and takes them off when swimming, I think I would also be unhappy to leave a scene without my property and with no good reason to do so, though as a white man it is unlikely that I would have been assaulted for this. -

Luhe, when exactly would she have been able to have the calm discussion with the barrel rolling officer if she left the scene? The point anyway is that there doesn't seem to be evidence that she was being 'bratty' just for the fun of it.
What do you think should happen to the police officer btw? -

Luhe, have you even seen the video? We're talking about a police officer who was throwing barrel rolls and in a clear rage, not a chap to be reasoned with, indeed, when she told him he violently assaulted her. You're talking shit, quite frankly. -

The request really wasn't that reasonable. The girl was hesitant to leave because she wanted to pick up her glasses. The idea that she should abandon her property (eye glasses are expensive) because of a power tripping policeman is rather ridiculous. She was probably worried about getting in trouble with her parents who would have had to replace the glasses.
Generally if you violently assault someone and pull a gun on people you will be charged for it, there should be no exception here.
