Personally, I'm happy as is Mainly because being single is my choice. I've had the opportunity to have a relationship, but currently at this time in my life, I need to stay single and focus on myself. So, being around married couples doesn't really bother me. I don't really feel lonely :P

If you are single and have married friends, . . .
by compound complex inis your sense of loneliness (if you are lonely) heightened when you see what they share?
how do cope (if you are coping) with a sense of isolation, of not having a significant other?.
i know some single persons who are very happy as they are.

This is difficult :/
5 - Giving talks.
4 - 2 - 4 day assemblies. Even the 1 day assembly is torture. Sitting there listening to the same old crap. Most boring thing I've ever seen. And if you're like me, you have to pay for a hotel room and food... so... wasted money for nothing.
3 - Field Service. I dislike waking people at 10 am on a Saturday only to be told that they are not interested, which proceeds by my preaching partner using everything in the book to over the conversation stopper.
2 - Personally, I haven't seen a young one get disfellowshipped, but I think that's sick. That kind of behavior towards a child will cause some severe mental harm, especially when they're in their most impressionable years.
1 - I've only seen a handful of these. But, young ones getting baptized is just dumb. They have no idea what they're getting themselves into nor are they qualified in any way to be an "ordained minister" of God.

by lambsbottom injust wanted to say thank you to all of you for everything over the last 3.5 years.
i am completely faded now.
i no longer suffer from major anxiety/depression, well versed on cults and how to protect myself, continually searching and taking in knowledge regarding my own relationship with god.

I'm new here and have found that since my joining and learning of the truth about the truth, I too feel so much better.
I wanted to say, even though I don't know you, I'm happy that you're content with life and no longer suffer from depression and anxiety.
Good luck in all your future endeavors :)

@Villiage Idiot, I don't have anyone in which is why I chose to just disappear. I have been missing meetings regularly for the past 6 months, so that was probably an unofficial fade, but it's now permament.
@oubliette Yeah you're right :/ Thank you for the tip and article, though, it helps :D
@Toesup thatnks for your personal experience, I'm definitely going to take your route and just keep ignoring :)
@all thank you to all those that have answered so far, you've really helped me remember that I'm my own person and that I don't have to answer to them. I think to myself, they aren't governmental authorities, thus I don't really have any reason to be obliged to speak or explain myself to them. they are just men after all :)
Thanks guys! This website and you guys have really proven to be a great help!

Hi everyone,
As many of you know, I've been out of the organization for about a month now. The elders haven't shown an interest in my absence until now. Today, I have received phone calls from two elders as well as a friend. I've chosen to ignore their calls, but I will admit that it's making me anxious :/ I actually was hoping that they would completely forget about me.
I was wondering if you guys had any advice for me or tips? I plan on continually ignoring their attempts to contact me and just vanish as that's what my entire plan was from the start.

JW Cart's Family Photos. My Pusher stole my JWCart1975 I.D. but here I am!
by JWCart insome of us ride, some of us roll.. .
family reunion of jw carts gathering together for missionary work, some people waste their time in liberia trying to help ebola victims, jehovah's organization spends all their time focused on meaningful endeavors by bringing them salvation.
pusher said "why bother helping when people are going to die anyway, focus on the big picture (joining jehovah's organization is the only way to eliminate homelessness, hunger and global issues", doctors waste their time in west africa when they could be pushing carts with literature and books, that's real healing", i still don't understand why we can't help the poor and sick but than again, i am just a jw cart!.

Why are you here? The elders wouldn't be too pleased if they found you on the site. Heck, you might be DF'ed for speaking to us.
EDIT: Apparently a joke thread, my bad :P

Hi all,
Not sure where to post this, so I posted here. I was wondering, since your coming out of the organization, have any of you decided to start celebrating certain holidays?
If so, why?
Thanks, peace and love

Hello everyone,
Some of you may have seen my previous post regarding my concerns with leaving the organization.
So many of you responded and were so kind and helpful, that is was rather overwhelming. I didn't expect so many responses. A lot of you also provided links to research as well as some books to read. I started crisis of a conscience yesterday and boy must I say, it's been eye opening.
I have not disassociated myself but I have completely cut off all ties to the organization. I've changed my phone number, email address and social media. I feel free and my depression has actually gotten much better. I think it was caused by my living a life that I did not agree with.
So, I wanted to say thank you to all those that responded and were kind enough to help me make this huge decision in my life.
